Good news - AX11000 as extender

where can I pull temp data on the AX11000? (for Merlin devices it's easy...)

Good news - AX11000 as extender

@wickedny5 - not sure it matters. My AX11000 (extender/non-AiMesh) is getting -65db, whereas my old (and also current) AC68U are -45 to -51db in the same spot. So signal strength isn't as strong, or alternatively, it's more sensitive to interference.

Good news - AX11000 as extender

Just installed mine today (see: other threads sold out, too expensive, etc.). Got it at AMZN for $362 before the price jump. Long story short, for simplicity and giggles, I'm using it as an extender to an AC5300 (not GT). It's actually working great. Wired and wireless are 250-450mbps (fiber...

    AX11000 available anywhere?

Price just jumped to $449 everywhere.

    Merlin or stock firmware?

seeing as Merlin isn't even doing firmware for the AX11000 (and rightfully so - it's a PITA), I'd stick with stock Asus on the AX88

    AX11000 available anywhere?

First, it's Canada. I'm not in Canada. Second, even with currency conversion, it's overpriced. But ... point is this is sold out in USA. My thinking is that ASUS has (1) manufacturing issues, and (2) waiting for WiFi 6e

    AX11000 available anywhere?

out of nowhere this thing is now sold out. Is Asus planning to EOL this unit and launch a new model with WiFi 6e?

    New GT-AX11000 firmware 3.0.0.4.384_9165

    using defaults can expose you.

    New GT-AX11000 firmware 3.0.0.4.384_9165

While their hardware is first-world (maybe not first class), their support - and that of Gigabyte and maybe Samsung as per a recent issue I had - is third-world. I'll stand behind that comment.

I have overkill of ASUS routers but would like advice.

I still think you have way too many routers. Your WAN is too slow to even care about AX. I have 40-50 clients on a single 5G channel on the AC-5300 with no issue. My thermostats and security run on 2.4G only because they suck. And my car connects too to check for updates/map/traffic. Home...

Wifi drops during Google Meet calls

sorry I mis-typed. Yes, traffic history.

Wifi drops during Google Meet calls

I had a very similar issue - with Zoom meeting - and specific to one of my EXTENDERS. Apparently video chat/calls/meetings floods the logs. Dunno why. And this was made worse by writing logs to NVRAM instead of RAM (duh). So I moved to RAM, set flush regularly to on, and it's better...

I have overkill of ASUS routers but would like advice.

I bought and returned a GT-AX11000 ... I just use a single RT-AC5300 and two AC68u as repeaters. Works great. i'm doing wireless backhaul to AC68u in my home office and then wire it to computers. No AiMesh. I manually configured it. 4000 sq ft house with weird interference issues. YMMV. Don't...

    QoS on AC5300

[cross-posted] After shutting off QoS, the AC5300 <> AC68U_B1 dropping continued, but came back quickly. I made two changes - apparently I was saving logs to NVRAM instead of RAM, and I was not flushing cache regularly... Let's see...

    [AC-66U B1] Do these fail/go bad after 3 years?

update #50 - it's related to my AC5300, not the 68u. After shutting off QoS, the AC5300 <> AC68U_B1 dropping continued, but came back quickly. I made two changes - apparently I was saving logs to NVRAM instead of RAM, and I was not flushing cache regularly... Let's see...

    QoS on AC5300

Sorry to split off my other thread re: AC66U_B1 going bad after three years (answer appears to be = no). But for findings/best practices, this is interesting: I turned on QoS on an AC5300 (AT&T Fiber has an issue with AT&T WiFi Calling [doesn't make sense, I know]), and this appears to...
