    IPv6 Setup with Comcast/Xfinity

You should be able to log in and see if you are pulling an ipv6 address: Click on the Connection tab at the left of the screen Look for WAN IP Address (IPv6). If you don't see one then a restart should fix it. Comcast is probably now above 95% complete with residential ipv6.

    [Mostly Solved] Huge bufferbloat

I think they can see your modem on their screen while talking with you, and if your signals/noise are within spec. So, here is how I think it will go: They will ask you to remove the AC68U and connect your laptop/PC/game system directly to the modem. They will try to say everything they can to...

    IPv6 Setup with Comcast/Xfinity

It will make more sense when you look at each device individually, by going to each devices' Internet/DHCP settings, and see how they change depending on router settings above.

    IPv6 Setup with Comcast/Xfinity

Connect to DNS server automatically: disable (here you are saying you do not want the ISP DNS) DNS Server 1: (fill in, here you are saying you want your own DNS and do not want the ISP DNS) DNS Server 2: (fill in, here you are saying you want your own DNS and do not want the ISP DNS) Advertise...

    IPv6 Setup with Comcast/Xfinity

It will push your router's IP in addition to user-specified DNS to all your devices. If you enable, it will use the routers own cache + user-specified DNS, or disable, and it will bypass the local cache and always go to the user-specified DNS. I always use yes, because I have a simple home...

    [Mostly Solved] Huge bufferbloat

You may actually have two problems. Contact the ISP again and do not say anything about bufferbloat or what you got from the previous forums. I have a feeling you said the word bufferbloat (or similar) and they tried to get you off the phone. Not your fault, they really don't want to pay for a...

    [Mostly Solved] Huge bufferbloat

A 2 to 6 second upload spike, non-stop, seems like you should maybe rule out a line problem within your house or to the pole/pedestal. It's the non-stop part that's weird. Do you have any way to check a status page on the modem, or anything ? On cable modems you can check signal quality, but for...

also, please tell me you were NOT gaming on wireless. :) I would just feel better about the whole situation.

    [Mostly Solved] Huge bufferbloat

If QOS did not help then it's probably the modem, and I can only assume this is Verizon since you didn't say, and this modem comes up on Google as Verizon. You also didn't mention the name of the new modem you purchased. So, one thing at a time: first, restore your AC68U to factory defaults...

Is the 87U capable of being tricked out?

ah man saw the words "tricked out" and thought RGB. add some spice to the room. plus RGB is free Gigahertz. everyone knows this.

    AC68U weak range

you should look for signal interference/overlapping from other networks. you can usually find a free wifi-analyzer for your phone, tablet, laptop, etc and scan the room. Neighbor routers may be set on automatic and have changed since you left the area 2 days ago and now it's just an unfortunate...

    Question and some help.

that's a server side issue. had a grade a few weeks ago, and since then I don't. I've also seen it before, some time last year. You could post a thread there to ask.

    Comcast/Xfinity Encrypted DNS

In my observations Comcast's engineering side is a complete 180 from corporate.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

DNS requests used to be cached locally on the router by default, could that be a reason for volume/instability ?

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 Beta is now available

worthy of a sticky. great post

IPv6 keep disabled when WAN type is set to "USB"

check here since you have a /0: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/setting-up-ipv6-on-a-rt-ac68u.27418/ and optionally, restarting both the router and cell phone is probably a good way to rule out other possibilities

    Cloud9 DNS

months ago I installed Cloud Fare's free iOS DNS app to get on the waiting list for the new free/paid VPN service: https://blog.cloudflare.com/1111-warp-better-vpn/ The DNS works well. The iOS app shows your place on the waiting list for release and has since moved up the list from number...
