So Long, Thanks For All The Help

Equipment malfunction is unfortunate. Didn’t start well for @ATLga with the lost package. This system is cursed. 😵‍💫

Make sure the cable is good on both ends before you proceed with RMA.

You have 2x PoE injectors and 2x APs. Easy to find what’s not right. Let’s not turn this thread into general troubleshooting help. The steps are exactly the same like when you have 2x identical home routers and one is not working for whatever reason.

Unable to add DSL-68U to aimesh network as node

Use stock Asuswrt firmware, don't preset anything on this node. It has to be freshly reset.

    Asus RT-AX88U doesn't create Wi-Fi 6 network

Where do you see this information and have you changed anything in Wireless, Professional settings?

There is no consensus in general. It's an available option and entirely up to you. By default it's Enabled. At least schedule updates at night and for the APs at different time so your network is not entirely unavailable. I keep mine disabled, no rush to update the moment an update is available.

It's actually more user-friendly than Asuswrt-Merlin + AMTM + Scripts. What is listed in your signature is built-in plus much more, including live data on your screen. I know you like monitoring things and you'll probably be watching it as entertainment for hours. No NAT acceleration hacks, no...

Another weird AX86U issue - but not Malware? - Solved

You obviously have DNS issues to clients. The router itself uses the servers defined in WAN settings and they work. Whatever you installed additionally - remove, reinstall, test again. Test with and without it and you'll find the issue. Keep it simple and your life will be better.

VPN included with router or extra fees?

We have discussed this subject already, no? https://www.snbforums.com/threads/vpn-service-question.91128/ With commercial VPN services you replace your physical ISP with virtual ISP and count on what they promise in advertisements. Physical ISP knows what commercial VPN service you use...

It is what it is. No returns, no refunds, no support number. Your problem now. Don't trust everything you read on Internet. 🍻🤣

Some say the "Legacy" interface has a setting for "known" SSIDs around and it clears the warning. You can try that. I know what the Legacy interface looks like, but haven't played with it for years and can't give you exact settings locations. It's very similar to what Omada interface looks like...

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

The system has rogue AP monitoring, unauthorized DHCP servers, etc. automatic network protection features. If you removed the Asus already the warning may clear itself over time. Not sure, don't have that. Check the Ubiquiti forums for more information. There is Data Retention Period in...

Can't get rid of the Asus, eh? 🤣 Check the log and clear the old messages.

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

Speaking about "issues" - the WAN monitoring is very sensitive and triggers warning messages sometimes for no reason. This one for example perhaps no one would even notice, but I have notification about it and have to clear the warning message. If this happens to you as well and you want to...

No. The first system has about 1.5 months uptime, the second about 20 days at the moment. Use whatever works best for your clients. Again, with 2x APs only you can do whatever you want.

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

Some users need clarification on the clarification and always want to make sure and double and tipple check. After all this - jump from one bad supported router to another with beta firmware on it and exactly the same problematic software offered there. No human or AI can help. 🤷‍♂️

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

Well... yes. If you change Tx power or channel on the fly the AP will display Getting Ready message for some seconds and Up to date after. If you change the DHCP range the clients will reconnect with the new settings. This is normal and expected. Remember your Asus router used to reboot...

    Omada device choice

The two systems are similar and both work very well. Ubiquity made interesting devices for home users allowing complete UniFi system on affordable price with two devices only. Omada is more industrial style, Ubiquiti is more Apple experience. The new gateways are super small, do IPS/IDS traffic...
