So Long, Thanks For All The Help

This short installation guide will come with the device: https://dl.ui.com/qig/ucg-max/#index It describes the UniFi App setup method, but you can just connect your PC and go to the default LAN IP address. The address will be displayed on the screen, can't go wrong. The screen will also show...

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

You can connect your entire system if you want, but the APs will be inactive until adopted. The gateway can be set with Ethernet connection using Web Browser on a PC or Bluetooth connection using the UniFi App on a phone. No Wi-Fi is required for this step. After the gateway is up and running in...

    Merlin for Tuf Gaming ax6000

Is Google working with original firmware? https://openwrt.org/ As I said before I would pick GL.iNet GL-MT6000 instead of Asus TUF-AX6000 if my goal was running OpenWrt on it. It already runs original firmware on top of OpenWrt and has better development and community support for vanilla...

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

The reason for  in my post above. I'm sick of AI crap around... Otherwise Ubiquiti actually has quite a bit of information for products and software features including example use and videos. iThings come with no User Manual and I guess they follow Apple for this as well. Seems like a...

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

In current situation with Asuswrt features under malware attack, rushed firmware updates, 3006 state in general and Asus not providing regularly GPL for RMerlin to work with... in my opinion the preferred version is something similar to my signature and discussed in this thread.

Risk level remotely connecting to router webui over http?

The member you quoted does not visit SNB Forums anymore and you replied to a thread >6 years old. If you need OpenVPN access back to your home network just set OpenVPN server on your router, export the *.ovpn configuration file and import it on the client device you'll be using to access your...

    Merlin for Tuf Gaming ax6000

RMermin doesn't support MediaTek hardware routers. No chance for Asuswrt-Merlin firmware for this router. OpenWrt is available.

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

Don't jump to the Ubiquiti Store right away. A lot of products there in different categories. There is some helpful information here: https://www.ui.com/introduction https://ui.com/ca/en/how-it-works ...but it gives examples of how you build some corporate network with big budget. Devices we...

Disable Intranet access for a LAN port (not the WiFi Guest network)?

The method above is a workaround with two devices when this functionality is not available on the main router. It is available on your router, at the moment in stock Asuswrt only. As per your signature you are running stock Asuswrt. Look at the link @bennor provided above.

Disable Intranet access for a LAN port (not the WiFi Guest network)?

@Justinh, you can do this on your RT-AX86U Pro in GUI. It's part of the new Guest Network Pro function, you can assign a port to VLAN.

Solved RT-AX86U - Stuck on old firmware (solved!), WiFi not working (solved!)

Not a weakness, but the way it works. Asuswrt-Merlin is modified stock Asuswrt. It's not entirely open source firmware and contains proprietary closed source components. Current security issue is in closed source components and Asus has to provide fix first. Only then Asuswrt-Merlin developer...

The initial setup is exactly like home router with predefined default network. Connect, follow the instructions on the screen, it may need about 10min to update the UniFi OS. You’ll be surprised how easy it is. The iPhone in networking.

No demo UI online. Your live simulator is coming soon as I understand.

Solved RT-AX86U - Stuck on old firmware (solved!), WiFi not working (solved!)

It is in closed source components. Asuswrt-Merlin needs a fix from Asus upstream. It may take some time.

    Router Mess

Best configuration is Main Node in Router Mode connected directly to the ONT (WAN side) and if a switch is being used (LAN side) it has to pass VLANs to other Nodes for the purpose of Guest Network propagation. If you can remove the ISP provided Gateway - you don’t need it.

    Release ASUS GT-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_34810 (2024/11/11)

Different warranty conditions for your place. Product manufactured in 2022 and sold in Canada. Funny the warranty on this one expired 3 days after the last firmware update was released. :)

    Release ASUS GT-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_34810 (2024/11/11)

I know. They say 3 years warranty and send you to a local retailer place to purchase it where the warranty may be reduces to 2 years without you noticing. My RT-AX86U was purchased from Canada Computers and the warranty expired after 2 years according to Asus by S/N of the device. 🤷‍♂️
