Skynet I have installed the skynet firewall how do I configure it if the security of iot devices is important?

Skynet is an IP-Blocker, not a firewall. It's an addition to the built-in firewall.

    Release ASUS GT-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_34810 (2024/11/11)

Not necessarily. The warranty period varies per region and distribution channel. https://www.asus.com/in/About_ASUS/Warranty/ Example from BestBuy in the US (the same in Canada), GT-AX6000 in particular: I know some people get 3 years warranty, but this is not the case for everyone.

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

How to fine tune? Adjust the power on 2.4GHz band and 5GHz band, make 2.4GHz band power 3-4dBm lower. To have 1dBm adjustment option go to System Settings, Advanced and select Professional Installer: Then in individual APs settings you'll see Custom with this: Different APs may have...

So Long, Thanks For All The Help

Some Band Steering testing and the results for whoever is interested. There are two options available for Band Steering in GUI. One is in System Settings, WiFi: The other is in UniFi Devices, select the AP you want to make changes to, go to Settings: So far it works best as shown above...

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

The best possible method is perhaps Asus firmware update restoring whatever was deleted in configuration. I don’t know if this is possible though. A special tool has to be developed and included for this purpose alone.

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

Still no firmware update for popular and most affected RT-AX86U/S models. RT-AX88U is on the same boat. 😕

    Installing Merlin on router

Where is the fix for current malware issue going to come from in 3004 based Asuswrt-Merlin? There is no word about it. Asus moved the AX Pro and compatible GT routers to 3006 with few releases already and removed everything 3004 related.

    Extend wifi signal to garage

Your camera is perhaps 2.4GHz only. Just get an extender like TP-Link TL-WA850RE for $20 and call it a day.

    AX88U Pro Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_33338 2024/11/06

Wait a bit and firmware with fixed AiMesh page issue may show up instead. Close all open to Internet services in the mean time so there is no surprises.

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

You got very lucky your equipment was compatible because ROG fiber uses RGB laser.

    AX88U Pro Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_33338 2024/11/06

I see Asus removed all old firmware as well. For popular around models RT-AX86U Pro and RT-AX88U Pro there are two downloads only available, for the gaming version GT-AX6000 - only one. GT-AX11000 Pro also has only two downloads available. Perhaps one of the two versions is the minimum required...

    POE vs plug power adpaters

Better use the supplied with the NVR power adapter. One extra device with power conversion - extra cost and power loss.

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

Asuswrt-Merlin firmware doesn't fix anything Wi-Fi related. Wireless drivers are closed source and come from Broadcom.

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

Looking at your signature you are running 3004 firmware. This thread is for 3006 firmware. And FlexQoS used to run on non-Gaming marketed routers equally well. So back to the original @Mathieu question - is there any advantage in purchasing a Gaming marketed router?

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

FlexQoS reached the end of the road. The developer moved to different platform. Not guaranteed to work in 3006 firmware.

New models to be introduced with 3006.102.2

Waiting for ExpertWiFi model with RGB and 12 antennas for Professional Gamers with related ExpertEthernet cables. All in white, of course.

    POE vs plug power adpaters

An NVR with 12V 1A power requirements (most likely external power adapter, 12W) doesn't have any PoE guaranteed. Small NVRs for 8x PoE cameras have at least 60W power supply and most often internal. Common 802.3af PoE is 48V up to 15.4W per port. PoE cameras are in about 4-12W each range.

    AP v AiMesh?

Pretty accurate information for @BeachGuy to take. Have some sand around? - make a smoothie.

    POE vs plug power adpaters

Are you sure this NVR can be PoE powered? Some NVRs have PoE-out for powering attached to them PoE IP cameras, but I've never seen PoE-in on an NVR.
