[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Upon second look at the product page, they do list test results. https://mikrotik.com/product/hex_s#fndtn-testresults = 1200mbps with QoS or 470mbps VPN (Just for fun) https://mikrotik.com/product/rb4011igs_rm#fndtn-testresults = 9800 mbps with QoS or 2100 mbps VPN If I am reading that correctly

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

In that review they tested up to 500mbps with QoS and it hit 500mbps. Only rate limiting was mentioned so I have no idea what kind of queue they used. (per device fairness is more ideal then per connection fairness, hopefully it wasn't FIFO) I have a post awaiting approval aswell. No idea...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Mikrotik doesn't have an easy/intuitive setup, but reported performance has been stated as 800-940mbps WITH qos. Important Note: One user said queues (QoS) do not work with fasttrack (mikrotik HW acceleartion) With that conflicting report I dont know how they are using QoS as those speeds...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I don't have anything in the works but it technically is possible to implement a lightweight QOS structure on Asus routers and see how it handles fiber. (The lightweight system may even perform better on regular connections then adaptiveQoS due to simplicity) My current recommendation for...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I do NOT know where where device priority is saved. You will have to find all the devices as they connect over time or factory reset. I don't think anyone here knows where its saved.
  6. FreshJR

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Just make sure you DO NOT use device priority and everything will work good.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Test. The Pie Graphs on the classification page are accurate. You can believe them. First post instructed you to use dslreports speedtest to check QoS performance. -- If WebSurfing is 60pps and you think its counter strike, then you can check what connections are opened in that category...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

No, I do not recommend using device priority at all. (All devices should be default) Both your gaming question && device priority questions were answered in the first three posts. I urge everyone to read them before asking duplicate questions. (I understand language barriers are commonly...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

That’s already on my list of things to change next release. But I haven’t had time to work on it yet. It’s a minor or change and for the time being you can fix it via the following. iptables -D POSTROUTING -t mangle -o $wan -m mark --mark 0x40080000/0xc03f0000 -p tcp -m multiport --sports...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

The destination between the old and new script should be the same. Maybe it was a recent definitions update on the trendmicro side. Either way, not a big deal. Use the gaming rule.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Limiting bandwidth is a waste if QoS is working properly. No bufferbloat should be present even if the network is saturated and any users using high bandwidth should be slowed when new connections are started. You can move all traffic from a specific user to the last category, typically {file...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

little more information -On RMerlin firmware both a router reboot or USB drive is NOT needed. (only a QoS restart is required (if the installer instructs you to do so). The installer also gives you an option for it to restart QoS if it detects a restart is needed) -On stock AsusWRT firmware...

    Buffer Bloat and AC86U

Just the first post if you want to read about how QOS works. The second post if you want to install the script and get information about optimal settings. Don’t read anything after third post as the first three have all relavent QOS information consolidated.
  14. FreshJR

    Buffer Bloat and AC86U

That's a good joke. The automatic setting on Asus routers only sets manual upload and download limits to 1800mbps. It does NOT figure out your ISP speed. It does not leave QoS in a remotely functioning state. I am 99.99% convinced its UI eye candy so the QoS page looks good customers at...

Yes that will update it. Also has a built in update / check for update command if running it from terminal.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

The bugs in current version **aren’t** show stoppers. So it’s not a big rush. They are not really bugs just quirks on initial launch.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Single script. It’ll be ready when it’s ready. Currently the bugs arent show stoppers.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Yes github command needs to be updated. But I’ll actually upgrade the script so original command works. Was reported last page.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Probably same issue as hosting a VPN server. The INCOMMING speedtest traffic is routed towards the router itself and terminates after the INPUT chain. This makes the INCOMMING download traffic never hit traffic control/qos as QOS is performed on egress right after POSTROUTING. See this link...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

This is very off topic. Take it up via PM. You guys are both corect. - Forced updates are terrible, think iOS. - I too expect something to work as advertised after I purchase it. - I personally keep up-to-date, but only out of concern for security. - If it ain't broken don't fix it, so just...
