Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.3 is now available

Flashed Rebooted Then formatted jffs and reboot Then factory defaults/wipe reboot Then set up and reboot seems to be ok. Need to give it a few weeks and see if that random disconnect is cured.

Can't really help, but I get the same thing (2.4 just drops). I just reboot the router from the gui.

Traffic spike fix from 384.14_2 was reverted in 386.1

I would assume Johns fork is unaffected by this?

    Noob/Basic Security Features / Setup /Configurations??

Basically what is says, just wondering if there is a tutorial or sticky. I would like to ensure against being a victim of identity theft or stolen banking info, etc. Basically running an Asus AC68U with Merlin 386.2_6. All/only I have done is set DNS to open DNS and that's about it (besides...

Photo of the wizard's lab, 2021 edition

https://www.asus.com/ca-en/Networking-IoT-Servers/WiFi-6/All-series/RT-AX68U/ https://www.digitalcitizen.life/review-asus-rt-ax68u/ Nice to see a 3yr warranty on the box, better than 1 or 2yrs. I just wished they would come with 5 gbe lan ports instead of 1. Then could put SSDs in the NAS for...

The AC68U reminds me of an old chevy 350 engine, it just runs and keeps on running.

How Much Total Throughput Can Your Wi-Fi Router Really Provide?

Thanks for the review Tim. Wish I could compare to my old AC68U. There is a huge plethora of USB wifi adapters out there, is there anything you would recommend for good 2.4 band if running the AX86U? Thanks

Web Browser Settings - Merlin FW

Hello, I am running an AC68U with Merlin 386.2, with NO add-ons, just vanilla with a min. config, and was wondering about browser settings. I currently use Firefox with ublock origins but recall Merlin saying something about FF and dns something or other. Just curious what/if there are some...

AC68U: Internet using WiFi can't hit 400mbps. Is this CPU limited?

Same here in Canada well northern Ontario anyway.........fibre on pole, coax to home. 350/10. Back in the day I would say this was fine, but now, like you say, uploading videos, photos to the cloud, or trying to have an HD webcast, more upload bandwidth is definitely needed.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

Updated the AC68u from 384.19, factory default and formatted JFFS. Seems to be running good, I'm on LAN so who knows about wifi. Router speed test over the LAN, looks ok, but I'm no network expert. PC to the server is about 600km away.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

ahhh This is something I do have as my NAS, cable modem, router and switch are all plugged into it. Maybe that's why my 68U is still going strong.

hmmm. A bit weird and scary and disapointing. Is it specific to that router or just a 1 off? I have been thinking of upgrading my AC68U, but it still seems more reliable and stable than these newer routers?

5+ months later, the Beast is finally alive

Nice system, congrats, hope it works out well and lasts a long time!! Prices and shortages are pretty crazy compared to what it was like before covid, and mining and scalping. I'm trying to build a small desktop for my daughter, and an AMD 3400G came in stock for $210 so I grabbed it. With...
