    hmmmm I read the AC86u had a bunch of issues also?? My 68u doesn't seem what it was way back, I'm thinking of trying John's FW to see if it runs any different. I think it's age, plus all of the added features of Merlin FW over the years might be bogging it down?? As for AC86U I can get it on...

    It's nice having the long evenings in the summer, but days are already fairly long in the summer anyway. I'd prefer to split the difference, put it back 1/2hr and leave it there and don't flip it anymore. If it's gonna stay then just put it back the full hour and leave it there. With kids...

    Thanks I was thinking ping, and jitter also. People here always seem anal about buffer bloat but is there even a reliable way to test it? I do think there is value in upload and going from 10 to 30 should help for video conf calls etc. latency and gaming yes as I usually host multiplayer...

    [tools] Waveform Bufferbloat Test

    I use fast.com then after the first auto run I changed settings to test loaded ping and upload. I don’t think it shows buffer bloat per se but it does show loaded and unloaded ping.

    Ya. It’s just sometimes prices and availability can vary dramatically in Canada compared to USA for whatever reason but usually they are inline with exchange rate. I was wondering about Asus routers in the $100 range compared to the RAX20. Thanks though I will keep that RAX20 on my budget...

    Well wan speed isn’t a big deal since most isp are slower. But if you have a workstation and a NAS and do lots of video editing then dual 10gig Lan would be a dream

    At $54 that RAX20 would be nice for a backup or AP or budget network, however most places are listing them from 80-140$ now. And most places in Canada it’s more expensive than the Asus AC86u so more than $200. lol bummer
