I'm pretty much the only one showing on 5ghz channel 36, and there is only one other low power guy on the 2.4ghz channel 11. Also no one is on the backhaul channel 157. So it might just be what they have in the walls here, because it isn't interference from anyone else. I am happy with the orbi...

Nope, I live in a relatively new apartment. Satellite is upstairs/router downstairs. In the bathroom at the far end of the upstairs, the Orbi will not reach at all, and the majority of the bedroom off of that bathroom is stuck on the 2.4ghz radio. It's like a 2000 sqft apt. I know this because...

It all depends on the layout and walls. I'm at 2,000 sqft and have areas the Orbi struggles in.

If your internet isn't too fast 100 Mbps or less you could just buy a Edgerouter for $50-100 and let it do the QoS for ya in conjunction with the Orbis in AP mode.

Basically yeah, but at one point in the process you will have to go into the Orbi settings web page and change a check box from router to AP. It's really very simple it would be hard to mess up, and on the offchance you can't figure it out just pop on here and ask for help.

ZyXEL GS1200-8HP 8-Port Web Managed PoE Gigabit Switch Reviewed

To be fair though, that one screen (device view) is pretty useless, and just duplicates info available on other screens. Back on topic, nice review. Thanks. Hopefully you'll do the unifi switch 8 60 watt soon as well, I think it's releasing this week.

I will say the iTunes version is pretty gimped compared to the android version. The android version can show you how congested the different bands are, but the iTunes version won't due to apple blocking it. So if you have both devices definitely get the android version.

You can't set up the satellites that way yet. Each one links to the router (star topology).

    Fastest wired through-put Router

I was thinking this one, becasue I can get it with a SFP port, and it has passive cooling . I assume for a home router, I wouldnt need more than 2 gigs of ram... https://routerboard.com/CCR1009-8G-1S-1SplusPC can get it here for $394...

    Fastest wired through-put Router

That is not bad considering that looks like I can get one new for $400. Does it require any subscriptions?

    Fastest wired through-put Router

"On a consumer level, home use scenario..." That aside the ccr1009 do gig while doing traffic shaping/qos? I could swing $400 for home use.

Am I missing something, because that router is like $3000, of course it is better than a ERL. I was under the assumption the OP was after a home router.

Mesh Mashup Redux - NETGEAR's Orbi Checks In

Even then it seems like the range on even the Unifi AP-AC-PRO is not all that great from the reviews I have read. So you may end up spending more in AP's to end up with equal coverage as the Orbi,

I am running a ERL and using the ORbi router and satellites as APs just fine. All you do is go to the advanced tab. Then under Advanced Setup>Router/AP Mode select:

Is an Edge Router Lite (ERL) a good idea for Gigabit Internet service?

I have uPNP enabled so forwarding is showing enabled on mine, I assume that shouldn't slow anything down right?

Is an Edge Router Lite (ERL) a good idea for Gigabit Internet service?

Thanks guys, I am pretty much running it (ERL-3) using the basic setup from the wizard. Has 1 wan, and 1 lan (no bridge). Has a few firewall rules, and that is about it. Fiber is still being ran, so I am currently on cable at 350/25, and it is running fine so far. I don't really know a whole...
