    Multi Port 2.5Gbe Switch

I'm curious how you get along with this. I have Synology NAS here and after reading briefly about how dongles would not work with DSM 7.1, I scrapped my 2.5 upgrade. If you find it's workable, my budget will have a hole in it, but upgrade I will.

Set up New ROG AX6000 (w/ RMerlin) but Not Getting Fast Wi-Fi Speeds. (Please Help)

Never assume, because this sounds like someone who has not kept up with the times. I'm using this; R4S Including a screenshot of the status page. Note the CPU usage. In the old days, an x86 was probably needed for VPN/encryption. Today, not at all. I run a tiny box that sips power, needs no...

Set up New ROG AX6000 (w/ RMerlin) but Not Getting Fast Wi-Fi Speeds. (Please Help)

I'll agree. Though having a separate box for your router and adding APs does give you better performance from your router. When technology changes, you can replace your radio (AP) much easier than the entire all-in-one as I used to do. You can put the router and cable modem where you like and...

    Synology RT6600AX

I briefly had an RT2600ac and support was timely and knowledgeable. Ultimately, they even had the retailer I bought from accept a return after the return window had closed. For my use, it just wasn't configurable enough. Give their SRM simulator a try before you buy.

    IPv6 precedes IPv4 translation

Good you qualified that. I have had Comcast for years, run a couple of servers here, have DDNS through Google (was no-ip). When I wanted to force all DNS traffic to a pi-hole I needed help with the IPv6 traffic. Else, troublefree. Until recently, I have worked for large companies, medium, spent...

Best way to connect starlink from barn to main house since starlink has best access from there

Much lower cost and better performing option than antennas if you are in the working range of MoCA. You are a great candidate, close, no splitters to other cable equipment. A straight run of coax, piece of cake.

Best way to connect starlink from barn to main house since starlink has best access from there

I run a MoCA setup about 125' with no loss of speed and the latency is extremely low. I'd think that coax is better suited to outdoor install than CAT 5/6 and likely costs less. I know coax is outdoor rated I've had 75' outside my house for 5+ years with the MoCA run. As for the Starlink...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 is now available

Not wanting to ignore the entries, just want to know why if I do not have RADIUS enabled nor in use I have the RADIUS entries.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 is now available

I'm curious about these entries in the log as well. I don't have RADIUS enabled as far as I can determine looking at wireless settings. Mar 8 20:42:05 hostapd: eth6: STA 18:4e:cb:88:dd:fd IEEE 802.11: associated Mar 8 20:42:05 wlceventd: wlceventd_proc_event(534): eth6: Assoc...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 is now available

After a dirty upgrade from beta my 5GHz WiFi password had become corrupted. The password had WPA2-Personal inserted 3 characters in. Took me a minute to figure it out, but changing it back to the correct one solved the issue of course. Don't know how or why, but as I have been on vacation for...

    ad blocking

It seems you are pretty set in your ways/requirements. Me? I'm flexible. I use AdGuard Home in my OWRT router. You may find that your ASUS router won't have the power to run AdGuard Home well. When I used my ASUS device as my router, I ran a Pi with PiHole to block ads in the network. Worked a...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 is now available

Yeah, well. I think I'll do what works for me. IoT is a perfect SSID. Why not?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 is now available

FWIW- These are my 2.4 settings that produce a solid connection to many IoT items around the house, including TP-Link smart plugs.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 is now available

I had this very issue with TP-Link smart plugs on beta 1 with an AX58, I also have an AX86 so I put it in service and have not seen the constant connect, get a DHCP address, disconnect cycle. These were running about every 60 seconds give or take 5. Don't know that it was limited to the 58 or to...

But, what benefit do you get by disabling IPv6? Final thread pollution post, sorry.
