    Gotcha. Thanks.

    Conflicting IP - single client

Thank you skeal for your suggestions. I'll try and disable wifi on the Onkyo (pretty useless gui, so will just remove the antenna). When you refer to hostnames, is that "OnkyoWifi" vs "TXNR838", or is it something else (those two seem fairly distinct - to me).

    Conflicting IP - single client

Hi all This is a recurring issue which has persistently followed me through FW upgrades: My A/V Receiver (Onkyo) offers a classical ethernet and wifi connectivity. I have managed to identify MAC address for each of them, and assigned each a static IP (outside DHCP range). Now, owing to karma, or...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

The router is running 384.5 at present, and there doesn't seem to be any issue. Will try to re-input settings manually when I get the chance. Please can you specify what you mean by "Modem leave on synchronised all the time"? Thanks for taking the time.

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

Hi all Thought I'd share my frustrating experience attempting to upgrade to 384.5, coming from 384.4_2. Lacking any expert technological knowledge, I have always relied heavily on this community for previous upgrades, particularly as regards reboots/resets/flushes etc. To the point: I can't...

Ethernet vs WIFI : funny IP addresses

Hello everybody 1. I have noticed that certain devices on my home network, when plugged into a LAN port (either directly in the router or in a TP link switch) are getting an IP address outside of the boundaries of the DHCP pool: eg 10.x.x.x vs 192.z.z.z. What could be causing it? 2. The above...

    [Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.68 is available

That was indeed an USB stick (as a power source for the cooler) which wasn't properly plugged into the router. Thank you for your help.

    [Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.68 is available

Thanks for the response. Is that a normal state of things (i.e., easy as no load on core 1), or should I try figure what I/O tasks are keeping that core so busy? Where should an apprentice look at first?...

    [Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.68 is available

100% Core 2 CPU usage Sorry if I step in uninvited. I experience extreme load on cpu core 2 (AC87U) and next to nothing on core 1. I haven't got a clue as to what could be causing it... I do run 3 OpenVPN clients, although none of the devices to which they relate are active [Redirect Internet...

    Is the GUI that toast?

Thank you. I see NVRAM usage at c80%, so that may be the reason. I'll go figure ways to reduce that amount.

    Is the GUI that toast?

Hi all I have recently upgraded to 380.68_2 (will update my signature), essentially because of the warning on the web gui which I got running my previous mod. On release notes and comments, RMerlin made it clear that flushing web cache was paramount. That said, and having religiously complied...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.67 is now available

My apologies in advance if I have incorrectly - whether in form or substance - posted the following, but there's one thing that's been bugging me for yonks, and I am hoping the cognoscenti might help: -In the client's list (DHCP menu) what is the difference between a 'Manual' IP address and a...

RT-AC68U randomly losing connection with Onkyo receiver

Checking your client list, you may notice (as was the case for my Onkyo) that there are two pieces of hardware for the receiver: the wifi card and the 'hard plugged' one. I have assigned a distinct fixed IP address to either one, based on their respective MAC addresses. In the Onkyo receiver's...
