    Not really, for me, particularly with the certificates in jffs and some of the backups built into the add-ons. OT: a death cleaning every so often is a good idea in general.

    Agreed. That's why I think the chkwan script is a better solution. But I can see from the logs that the routers were continuing to restablish connection, so rebooting was neither necessary nor sufficient.

    I just went through this with my AX88. Spectrum had an outage in the area and restored service after a couple of hours, but I was not able to reconnect to the router's VPN server. I'm an ocean away. A remote reboot of the modem fixed it. So now I have set the router to reboot 3x per week...

    Definitely a puzzle. There should be something in the log at location #2 if the server is seeing an attempt. If not then maybe something is preventing the smartphone from knocking on the server's door.

    How can that be? delete ver_num(){, and the ; } at the end. Because in bash we are not defining a function. Then in the "$1" put what you want to be evaluated. Enter.

    If you leave it with "# flags(final), the message will continue to be processed and end up in the system log. If you delete the "#", it won't go to the system log. Good point. message() and host() are triggered if the sequence is found, so both nodes would match both filters.

    To return to the OP's question, ver_num returns 3861000 for 386.10, and it returns 3806800 for 380.68, so it should be OK.
