BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.8.20 -Oct 12, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! CIFS/SMB/NFS! (Now available in AMTM!)

The AC68U was an exceptional router with an unusually long supported life cycle. I fear we will never see another model of its style again.

The only other thing I can think of is the username or password has a character that is being misinterpreted by the shell. More the username as Vic has already base64 encoded the password in the script.

Try Hoping this goes without saying, but did you change myname and mypass to the username and password of your account on your NAS? I ask, as from the screen shot that you posted, it does not look like you did.

Correct concerning the md4 module. Only certain routers requires it. I have one old NAS that I must connect via 2.1. 2.0 and 2.2 does not work. Yet another device is reverse, it must be set to vers 2.2. it all depends on your client that you are trying to connect to. What is the error you get...

Route add via SSH - persistent-how?

In all honesty, it is quite remarkable what @RMerlin has done with these little boxes given the physical limitations of the hardware. I am happy with my AX88U. I got Merlin specifically as I can adjust dnsmasq so that I can run a Samba4 AD in my home lab and still have the router handle DHCP and...

Route add via SSH - persistent-how?

The joys of working with an embedded distro. I would add your route command to the services-start script. https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/wiki/User-scripts Is a good spot to start to learn about working with Asus-Merlin. I say services-start script is a good spot, but you may in...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.7 is now available

I've waited a long time for the 388 branch to become mature enough. Looks like 388.7 will be the one. I have not seen any issues reported that would have affected me (unlike version 1 to 6). After careful planning and ensuring my documentation was sound, it was a smooth upgrade -> full reset...

    Crontab jobs disappeared.

Correct, Merlin did not add the logging. It's in the changelog

sbnMerlin 1.2.6 - Network Isolation Tool based on Guest Networks, June 26 2024

It is not often that I comment on scripts (unless I have an issue). I did not see this post until today. I've been busy with other projects and have not had a lot of time to browse these forums. I am thrilled to see this script. I wrote my own YazFi replacement script last year as I had a...

[SOLUTION] asus-wrapper-acme.sh Adds --dns Support for Let's Encrypt Wildcard SAN Certs to Integrated Asus acme.sh Implementation

Good point. I get around this by specifying the home directory where I installed acme.sh on my SSD drive via the --home option.

    [ 3004.388.7 alpha 2 Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Don't even need a static arp..... Just set the printer up with a static IP (or preferably a DHCP-reserved IP). That way the printer won't wonder thus messing up windows.

[SOLUTION] asus-wrapper-acme.sh Adds --dns Support for Let's Encrypt Wildcard SAN Certs to Integrated Asus acme.sh Implementation

Are you looking for the mount command to mount over the firmware version of acme.sh? If so, the command would look something like; mount --bind /opt/home/acme/acme.sh /usr/sbin/acme.sh You would have to adjust the path to where you put the downloaded version of acme.sh

    Diversion Pixelserv replacement

Short answer is no. The feature was removed in Diversion 5 as Pixelserv is no longer supported by the developer.

    Lost password recovery

If you have SSH access to the router, this post may help. Something tells me though that this method may have been nuked by Asus in more recent versions. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/how-to-reset-encrypted-admin-password-via-ssh.77786/

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.8.20 -Oct 12, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! CIFS/SMB/NFS! (Now available in AMTM!)

I think you have an amazing product @Viktor Jaep , but I am not using your script. I believe in the KISS approach. I am still using my original script with some modifications (I keep only last 10 backups and use base64 encoded passwords now).
