Firmware Support for Special Edition Routers

Yuk! There, my first one word reply that I swore I would never do - but this earns it!

Unable to connect to VPN with specific ISP (and more weird symptoms)

Yeah, that is weird Still, I'd be very surprised if an ISP is blocking NTP. NTP is just one of those staples of networking. Does your ISP have their own NTP server?

Unable to connect to VPN with specific ISP (and more weird symptoms)

What does the logs show for any errors? Have you tried a manual domain lookup? Have you tried a different NTP server?

Question on Setting up Scheduler for Wildcard Certificates and DDNS in Asuswrt-Merlin

Question 1. The command is service, not restart. Question 2. I don't use Asus's version of certificate manager, so I can't say. I downloaded, installed and setup acme.sh on the router and scripted my own certificate manager for both the router and my other certificate requirements. For the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Was addressing who ever it was that was suffering the dnsmasq crash right after YazDHCP list was loaded. Check the MAC address in that list. Not the DHCP lease time.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Look for silly mistakes in the MAC address. Simicolin instead of a Colin, missing Colins, duplicate MACs, IP address, MAC address with invalid characters, etc.

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

Amen on that. The 388.4 release seems plagued with random reboots. Seen reports of SpdMerlin, FlexQos, QoS, and many other circumstances. Be nice if we could nail down that cause. My AX88U is still running 386.7_2. I have resisted 388 as 388.1 had the asd pounding the crap out of hard...

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

@Viktor Jaep Just thinking out load here.... I have done this before on the router to get an age of a file.... 1. Age in seconds of a file since the beginning of time (well, linux's time) date +%s -r $filename 2. Age right now since the beginning of time date +%s 3. Subtract the two to...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.4 is now available

As @MDM has pointed out, dnsmasq is crashing after the list of hosts is loaded. Check your hosts file you created in dnsmasq. Check for any duplicate MAC address or incorrectly formatted MAC address. I've had this happen to me. It was a MAC address on a dhcp-host line that I mistyped.

Step 2 onward of this article may help. There is no Sudo in Busybox https://tecadmin.net/mount-remote-windows-share-on-linux/

The share is done via the Linux mount command. You can look at my script at the below link. It is a little more cleaned up a shorter. For a novice, maybe a little easier to follow. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/segmentation-fault-in-amtm.86496/post-861071

Entware Asus Merlin Entware NUT Server

    I would change /jffs/scripts/service-event to /jffs/scripts/post-mount

Entware Asus Merlin Entware NUT Server

Just so I can keep up, which instructions are you using? My script is in post 24. I call it from a custom startup script in the unit.d directory (deleting the entware installed scripts). Or using another OP instructions? Just so I know where to look.

Entware Asus Merlin Entware NUT Server

Where are you starting your script from on router start? Should be called from post-mount or a custom script created in the entware unit.d directory (replacing the entware installed scripts).

BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

My misunderstanding. I read it as downloaded script, then nuked USB. Then tried opkg. Which would not work.
