BACKUPMON BACKUPMON v1.5.10 -Mar 1, 2024- Backup/Restore your Router: JFFS + NVRAM + External USB Drive! (**Thread closed due to age**)

You're saying that the simple act of just downloading the script is breaking opkg? Do you get any errors? Check out the value of your $path both before and after the download. Does a reboot restore the path..

I have used rsync before and still do for other applications. It certainly has its place. Just be mindly that in your application, the target machine has to have rsyncd running and set up to authenticate the inbound connection.

Have not got a clue about sysstate. If I understand the -l option, it is pretty safe. The share will simply get unmounted when sysstate is done with it. As far as the sockets errors, I did find this about the subject with tar "Sockets are zero level files that are used by daemon processes to...

I would try the -l option with umount. That way as soon as sysstate is done with the share, it will unmount automatically. If I understand the option correctly.

Maybe just check to see if the file md4.ko exists. If if exists, load it. The file does not exist in the library on the 386 code base. i.e. (find /lib -name md4.ko).

So, the psmisc package has fuser. You can try installing the package, then run fuser -km <mount point> Then try to unmount the share. To install the package, run opkg install psmisc If you are uncomfortable with it, don't. The dev can play further with it at a later time. More interested if...

It is just another tool to help figure out what has the share busy. At camp, so I can't check myself, but opkg update opkg list | grep fuser Should tell you

I think the -f option is to force a NFS filesystem to disconnect. You're right with the -l option. It only disconnects when not busy.

I'm not at home, so I can't check, but does the firmware have fuser? If not, see if the entware repo has a fuser package.

BTW, if the router's version of umount supports it, you could use the -l switch to force an unmount.

For trouble shooting purposes, disable QoS and see what happens. It would be good to know if QoS is causing issues here as well. It is always hit and miss with Samba as far as the mount goes. If Samba is holding the resource, it will be hard to close. Does not really hurt anything to leave a...

Question on Setting up Scheduler for Wildcard Certificates and DDNS in Asuswrt-Merlin

This will not survive a reboot. From your services-start script, use cru a <Cron format> to add a Cron job. Don't use the auto added Cron job acme wants to do. Does not work well.

Question on Setting up Scheduler for Wildcard Certificates and DDNS in Asuswrt-Merlin

I use acme on my AX88U to handle my certificate needs over two domains (including wildcard certs). I have shared my scripts here before. If you can wait a few days until I am home again, I can share my scripts.

Mount point will not unmount if there are any open files related to the share. Something may not be cleaning up properly. Swap space usage is pretty normal with SMB. It is bloatly and uses a lot of memory. That is just the nature of SMB. Not a good sign with the router reboots! What firmware...

The modprobe will fail if you are on 386 base as it is not needed. Nothing to worry about. I also think only certain 388 firmware routers need it.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.4 is now available

You imported the configuration of one model router into a different model router. You're asking for trouble. It's a pain, I know, but reset and start from scratch. The joy of owning these type of SOHO routers.
