    What is "asd" process?

Indeed, I looked at it in the morning and the scanner was running, it probably starts with a delay. I'll keep the manual suspension for now. -- ..I refined the previous state a bit, added it to cron, as a process running every minute: cru a stopfind "1 * * * * /usr/bin/killall -STOP find"

    What is "asd" process?

I just simple did add a line to the end of /jffs/scripts/post-mount: /usr/bin/killall -STOP find It looks like working after reboot...

    What is "asd" process?

this is such a primitive solution that it is outrageous...

    What is "asd" process?

no, the process is only suspended, not stopped (if i stop, then it starts again immediately)

    What is "asd" process?

it is completely suspended, there is no running "find' process..

    What is "asd" process?

the only question is which is the bigger security problem, an older firmware, possibly containing sechole, or a new firmware, which must block running processes in order to avoid malfunctions...

    What is "asd" process?

the question is, is this malfunction specific to Merlin firmware only, or did it occur with Asus firmware as well?

    What is "asd" process?

...and the other working solution is the one I also wrote: suspending the running process. This obviously has to be done again after every reboot, but it seems manageable for now.

    What is "asd" process?

I wonder what's up with the latest asus firmware? does the scanner also run on it?

    What is "asd" process?

Do you think? Merlin said that he corresponded with asus about the matter and after that this was the solution (although personally I'm surprised that he also ported this hack to the merlin firmware.)

    What is "asd" process?

I described the problem on the Asus security form, but they dismissed me as not being a security problem, I should write to customer service. It's quite an arrogant attitude from them to cause a disturbing operation and I should even try to guide the error through the Asus system, instead of...

    What is "asd" process?

I think it is temporarily sufficient if you manually suspend the running of the process, I don't think this "solution" will be long-lived (at least not for me).

    What is "asd" process?

That's it, I'm glad you confirmed what I'm saying. However, from this point on, it is nothing more than an inconvenience, with which only the user of the product is punished.

    What is "asd" process?

Az I am convinced that this is only an appearance of protection, it does not provide a real solution, it only causes inconvenience to those who would otherwise take full advantage of the possibilities provided by the hardware. I simply shot down this scanner, so someone else can figure this out...

    What is "asd" process?

these are not assumptions, but facts, but we do not agree on this.. :)

    What is "asd" process?

ok but how does this relate to this? :)

    What is "asd" process?

I think almost 100% of users are average users, they don't even notice if something is behaving strangely on the router. Those who regularly install updates will notice and try to fix the malfunction. I don't think it's the users' job to look for bug fixes, to improve the manufacturer's...

    What is "asd" process?

Yes. Never use weak keys, passwords, and do not open remote access to the router from the WAN side, so you don't have to worry about external attacks. If it does, it could be outdated firmware, or a backdoor (manufacturer's responsibility, a scanning script can't be used afterwards), or culpable...
