Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

Thanks for looking into this, but I believe that the "address" being referred to in my error seems to be in relation to a physical/hex address on the USB drive, not an IP address, as I have (for at least a year or so) switched to Diversion-Lite, thus no Pixelserve IP reservation takes place...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

@thelonelycoder , @RMerlin This is on my main router, the RT-AC86U. Well, that was fun: I did try reinstalling my amtm scripts once again, startring with Entware, on a alternative simple USB flash drive. That also didn't work under 386.7 (beta1), as I still see a fast scroll off the screen to...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

No, I suppose it is worth a try. Odd though, as I switched to a "real" SSD to avoid issues with cheap flash drives failing (which I have had happen in the past).

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

Well, that was worth a shot, but didn't succeed: I did another round of first formatting the jffs partition, wipe and format of the attached USB SSD drive (first as NTFS on Windows, then as ext4 with journaling from the amtm fd utility). Same results: I can't even get amtm to install Entware...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

Thanks, I appreciate the reply and suggestions. Glad to hear it cannot be the jffs issues that affect the limited set of newer models. I still find it odd that everything works fine under 386.5_2, and it breaks moving to any 386.7 version. On top of that, I have never tinkered with...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

Really odd, as I am surprised that I seem to be the only one reporting issues with this 386.7 cycle (Alpha and Beta 1) on an RT-AC86U that may possibly be related to this newly discovered JFFS upgrade glitch, but I was surprised to see that my model isn't in the affected list. Each time I...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

Interesting ideas, but I doubt it in my case: I long ago switched to using a SSD in an external USB case rather than a simple USB flash drive, as I know the long term problems associated with most of the (cheap) flash drives. Also, it's not like my scripts aren't accessible and running, they...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

And....you repaired it by doing....? A full format and reinstall of amtm and all scripts? Sure, I know that will work, but was trying to avoid it if possible.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 Beta is now available

Anyone else see issues with amtm scripts (Diversion and unbound, possibly others) that don't want to accept any new updates, or even a forced re-install (uu updates)? This is on an RT-AC86U, and has been happening since the alpha release, as well as on the newer beta release. Jffs is mounted...

    [ 386.7 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Just a friendly heads-up, you might want to review the supported model list, as the RT-AC68U is listed twice, but the RT-AC86U is left out, when it is in fact available on RMerlin's OneDrive alpha site.

    [ 386.7 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Agreed, just wanted to point it out. I'm sure most of us here feel that installing the latest point release will result in some sort of improvement, even if that improvement is sometimes hard to quantify. Warm fuzzy feeling aside... Edit: I do acknowledge and recognize the importance of the...

    [ 386.7 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

The "snappy GUI" is a well observed placebo effect from a fresh reboot, many users report it after each new release.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.6 beta is now available for select models

No, other models will still be supported in the next release (386.7), so this was an exception to the norm. See the official word from RMerlin here: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-merlin-386-5-is-now-available.77691/post-756454 and here...

    AdGuardHome [RELEASE] Asuswrt-Merlin-AdGuardHome-Installer (AMAGHI)

Are you seeing any actual negative effects of having 99% memory utilization? Slowing performance, etc.? If not (and I suspect you won't), then ignore it: Linux and Unix based operating systems tend to be pretty efficient in managing memory and may report "high" numbers like that but still work...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 is now available

Before trying the somewhat dangerous method of direct writing via an SSH session, try flashing one more time via the GUI directly wired to that device, after a fresh reboot and also after removing any attached USB drives. The method of direct flashing via the SSH session should really only be...

    Skynet Whitelist by country code?

I did see that he posted a very specific question regarding IP6 support (that was answered by RMerlin), but unless you have seen other active development threads (where he is the primary developer, or is otherwise contributing regularly), I'm not convinced that we can call that being "back on...

    Skynet Whitelist by country code?

Use blacklisting of countries as much as you see fit for these purposes (although the more you add, the more likely you are to have unintended consequences, sites not working, etc...). We are unlikely to see new features added to Skynet, as the original developer (@Adamm) has moved on (a long...

How to properly configure pihole server recursive dns for my lan.

I am curious about your last line: I have personally been using Unbound (in recursive mode) and Diversion for quite some time successfully on my RT-AC86U, but have been intrigued by the AdGuard Home setup. What was going wrong in your setup? Curious about any perceptible differences in DNS...

    RT-AX86U irrecoverably bricked after update?

Not to be critical, as you clearly have some advanced knowledge, but why did you start with the most "brute force" method that the bypasses safety checks that are built-in to the GUI firmware upgrade method.
