Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 is now available

Please don't turn this into yet another CPU temp/fan mod thread, as there are already several dedicated ones on those exact subjects. Luckily this thread will soon be locked in any case...

la crosse weather station fails to connect on guests 1/2

Can you clarify what you did that helped? Reading your post doesn't really tell us, but presumably you also switched to "Legacy" mode as well, right?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 is now available

Hmm...as previously hinted to by another member, perhaps this is an additional sign that we may see another alpha/beta cycle coming very soon. Or, at the very least a point release?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

Any chance this might be related to your own post in the stock factory firmware section regarding difficulties doing a proper reset on this model? https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ax86u-hard-factory-reset-not-fully-working.76213/post-728910

RT-AX86U Hard Factory Reset not fully working

At that price, I would grab one, if only I had a nearby MicroCenter. FYI, BestBuy still wants $280 for that model, and $250 for the inferior RT-AX86S.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

Hmm...almost seems like a holiday season/Christmas gift from @RMerlin: dare we hope for a stable Release by New Year's day?

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

Hmm...this is starting to sound more like a client issue, perhaps the Android "Private DNS" setting should be checked: it may be set to Auto, I would suggest turning it off completely, even if theoretically it shouldn't matter inside of an OpenVPN tunnel. Worth trying in any case.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

Looks almost identical to mine, but maybe you also made some changes to the Data Ciphers? And on the General tab, you have the "Client will use VPN to access" radio button set to "Both", right? Beyond that, I don't know what else it could be, given that you have done a full reset and jffs...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 beta is now available

No extra script needed, working fine here. I can access both the WAN and any of my LAN devices through the OpenVPN connection, on Android or laptops from outside my LAN. This has been the case for a least the last couple of years that I have been using this function, no helper scripts needed...

    [ 386.4 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

I can only suggest to verify that your username and password meet the current requirements of your chosen DDNS provider, as some of those requirements may have recently changed.

    [ 386.4 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

This issue was resolved with the latest version (Dec.9 or 10th) of 386.4 Alpha 3 (for my installation in any case). A newer version of inadyn was incorporated in that release.

    DNSOMATIC new API Settings

I too am using a username only (not full email address), and with no changes on my part, it started working again after the upgrade to the latest Alpha3. I did read in one of "their" forum threads that perhaps there are some restrictions on certain special characters, particularly when used at...

    AX86U/CA

As I am sure @Tech9 will agree, as much as we may like our RT-AC86U routers for our own use, they are a potentially "poisoned gift" to pass along to friends and family, especially if they rely on your support and are many hours away, as these routers have an unfortunate mix of hardware issues...

RT-AX88U issues with DNS-O-Matic and System Log

    DNSOMATIC new API Settings

Two things were going on here simultaneously: the DNSOMATIC service was having some issues for a little while (not sure if it was a few days or a couple of weeks), and even after that was repaired, the first version of 386.4 Alpha3 was still giving an error on the dyndns updates. The most recent...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC3-3 public beta for IPv6 DDNS and IPv6 VPN server

Wow, a rational discourse between two adults, on an internet forum??? What is happening? What's next, unicorns with solid gold horns roaming in the streets? Sorry for the off topic post, but the calm exchange of ideas did have to be noted.

    Why no new Merlin firmware?

This post was directly from an Asus employee on October 2, 2021. (ASUSWRT_2020 has been confirmed by RMerlin to be a legitimate Asus employee) https://www.snbforums.com/threads/six-months-since-merlin-included-updated-asus-gpl-whats-cooking-at-asus.75053/post-717560

    Why no new Merlin firmware?

At this point it really doesn't matter if we (as end users) get to know the exact reasons for the lengthy GPL release delay on Asus's part, as they are starting to move again, and alpha/test builds are now flowing from RMerlin. We were told in somewhat vague terms that there were issues with...

    RT-AX86 Series

Yes, that is more in line with the spread I was expecting between the two models: not the ridiculous, mimimal $30 difference we have in the US. On top of that, this price difference was artificially created by bumping up the price of the RT-AX86U and slotting in the crippled model (RT-AX86S) at...

    Release ASUS RT-AC86U 3.0.0.4.386.45956 2021/11/25
