    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.1.1

I don't have a USB stick or swap enabled, run the cake plug in and have 56% RAM used. It's not an issue for me.

    CakeQOS CakeQoS-Merlin v2.1.1

Depending on your router and the other plug in apps, you might be able to go without a swap file. It depends on available RAM. This app does not use a lot of RAM

Device all of a sudden is assigning itself a 169.254 IP address when coming out of standby

Your Apple TV probably is failing to connect to the network on restart. Try assigning a static IP on the Apple TV.

Saved settings and jffs get blocked by Chrome & Windows security

Possibly. If one of them can send the file up to https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload that will provide more info

Saved settings and jffs get blocked by Chrome & Windows security

I think you are both confusing a virus detection with an unusual filetype download. AV definitions are not used for this. Simply permit the download and place your backup where you normally do.

pros and cons for the two common DNS setups for a local adblocker - adguard home

Be aware that the DNS list a client uses is not necessarily primary, backup, tirtuary. Some clients will use round robin leveling the load to the DNS servers. Windows has a registry setting that can be used to select which way it behaves. Every once in a while MS changes the default.

Don't use SmartConnect. It's the client's job to decide where to connect. If you have clients that make bad choices, address them individually, possibly by using separate SSIDs for each band.

Saved settings and jffs get blocked by Chrome & Windows security

Have https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload take a look at your JFFS backup. My guess is it's a false positive yet it's best to check. Good luck!

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.5 is now available

That is the router checking if the WAN is up. When the wan is down, users are redirected to a WAN down message. The definition for the host to check via DNS is under WAN on the left side and Duel WAN on the top. Strange place...

Can I set up different wireless settings on AI Nodes in a mesh setup?

The router should always be the most capable device as it's settings are propagated to the nodes. As your router is dual band, your nodes will get a dual band configuration. Make one of your tri band routers the router. Move your existing router to be a node and it will work best if it can...

Solved Windows 11 updates won't download attempted disabling router settings.

As another computer on your network can update without issue, the one that can't be updated has the issue. Verify your time and date. If they are correct the fastest solution is to backup your files, format and reinstall. That's a shame

Now go forward again and see if the problem returns. Without doing this, you may have simply cleared an issue rather than proven a software issue.

Is there any way to get dual band to work correctly?

Most people don't have these problems. Which model router is it and how old is it? Possibly you have a bad 2.4 Ghz radio. If it's still in the return window, try exchanging it.

Is there any way to get dual band to work correctly?

For IOT devices that only work on 2.4 Ghz, that will do nothing. I've dealt with problematic IOT devices and they are frustrating. If you still have the Netgear router, you might want to try connecting it to a LAN port on your Asus router and put it in AP mode and only enable the 2.4 Ghz...

Is there any way to get dual band to work correctly?

Most IOT devices have terrible radios and antenna. Making matters worse, they are frequently placed where there are things shielding them from receiving or sending the signal. The first thing you need to do is look at the received signal strength for each device. The second is to look at the...
