    I havent had a chance to mess with this since the other day, but figured out what was going on. I use dual-wan for failover. When the second line is considered "hot", for some reason it shows wan_ipaddr as a private. But what Im actually using is wan0_ipaddr , sorry I should have checked this...

    I already have. the grep of 10\. is also picking up 100.xxx, which isnt a private ip.

    It works fine, its just detecting double-nat wrong on a wan ip of 100.X, which was making me try to figure out why I was in a double-nat situation.     If you dont setup the new router at all, you should be able use the aimesh setup on the original, and hit add node. Is this not working? There wont be a mesh option on the new router when setting up. I believe some of the older units like 66u has that.

    I have one node that backs up all the usb drives (that are connected to multiple mesh routers) to google drive with rclone everynight, another that runs a irc client 24/7, another has cups running for a printer, because asus doesnt do that for nodes yet.     I offload some of the extra services to one of my ac86u aimesh nodes, everything works fine. But diversion wont install because it says its a ap/media bridge. Is there a reason beyond my capability for this? Id just assume Id set my local networks dns to that nodes ip.

    you can only have one device connected to the modem? hrrmmm, my modem has 5 ethernet ports and wifi, and I would assume his asus router is still connected to the modem with all associated devices.

    Dave we have spoke many times, I used to just have 25/2 and relied heavily on flex. I finally got starlink, but the bandwith ranges from 50 to 250..     With the lasted updates stock or merlin for quite awhile (which aimesh is stock in merlin). Its been almost impossible for me to add a node without connecting it with a ethernet cable first, then unplugging and moving to my desired location. Same routers, same locations was never a issue before...

    So your saying if a download is going on, and using all the 500Mbps, a stream or other tasks will magically work fine without qos? and low latency doesn't equal great bufferbloat

    I was just looking at that, so made my settings in the gui lower to get the value I actually want. I assume its always been this way, and I just noticed.
