Wired backhaul AX AiMesh nodes, how to configure for 160Mhz/DFS when AX Router is also set for 160Mhz/DFS

So then this is a strong argument for running Merlin on the nodes as well.

Wired backhaul AX AiMesh nodes, how to configure for 160Mhz/DFS when AX Router is also set for 160Mhz/DFS

I have tested this sort of configuration scenario independent from this thread. I was specifically trying to set independent transmit power levels, which I'd surmise would equate to this purpose. ssh in to the node, set NVRAM variables, commit them, reboot node, and each and every time, the...

clients connected to node by ethernet show as connected to main router

OMG. Really? With a client wired to a switch (which is all that's happening here) which is wired to the router, the router /should/ show the client as being connected "directly" to the router. The only time a client should show as being associated with the node itself is when the client /is/...

Solved UPDATE: No longer required. See thread. - [Feature request] Option for DHCP Query Frequency Backoff Mode

Not necessarily an Asus fanboy, and am glad the problem got "solved" (after a fashion) but constant disconnects aren't something I'd have spent 30 days chasing a rabbit over when a squirrel is so obviously the culprit...

Why is ASUS disinterested in fixing RT-AX89X going out of memory causing a reboot?

I'll speculate on this. Asus primarily uses Broadcom hardware, though they've also got some (lower-end?) devices running on MediaTek. Qualcomm is rather a novelty for them, isn't it? Okay, with that "understanding" I'd guess they defer as much stuff to their hardware providers as possible...

    Strange question about Wifi channels

I understand the rationale which says "this channel isn't being used by anyone else so I can have it all to myself". I really do. But the skeptic in me has to wonder why nobody else is using the channel. If their routers are set to Auto channel (which I would suspect to be likely) then maybe...

    GT-AX6000: USB Drive size limitation?

Why always "format it with NTFS" and not EXT3 (since that's what's native to the router)? I guess maybe I could better understand it if the advisee was a Microsoft sufferer, but this time at least it appears not the case...

    Strange question about Wifi channels

What are the chances somebody else nearby also introduced something new to the spectrum about the same time you did?

3 story house approx 5K sq ft with limited ethernet wiring

Extremely satisfied XT8-pair user here. Wire the second device if at all possible for greater flexibility. For the most flexibility /and/ performance, use the (wired) second one as an AP instead of a mesh node. Not saying there weren't complaints as stated, but they seem to be relegated to...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Doesn't answer the question. I'd be inclined to answer "IP address" but that's just a guess. I've yet to "mess with" that.

    Crontab jobs disappeared.

Just automatically add a minute... Seems cron would simply cue them. Can't believe this would be an issue.

    Wi-Fi to LAN converter recommendations?

Replace ASUS Equipment by TP Link

Best way to build a house when there's millions of acres of pine forest. Oh, wait, not anymore in Canada after last summer. Quarry operations for home building ought to be booming there now...

    Advice needed on new router!

The folks over at the (an?) openwrt forum looked to be liking it pretty well the glance I took the other day.

    WireGuard and Traditional QOS

Are you trying to preemptively assure their happiness or are your efforts in response to problems having arisen? If solely the former I suggest seeing what happens sans QOS first. That would be so much simpler if it works okay!

Where is the custom configuration field on the new ASUS routers?

You've cut off the bottom of the image. Can you not add the directive to the shown list within that field?

Router refuses to login thru https (secure) though configured as such

I recall back in the days of W95 (and maybe W98?) that one had a 50/50 chance of falling prey within 10 minutes of connecting a new / default-setup computer to a public network. A complete wipe of the operating system should leave only the possibility the BIOS was messed with. At least in my...

Gigabit Tx/Rx rates yet slow transfer speeds over wifi

While I accept the possibility there's an Asus problem "in general", a very few cases out of many many thousands doesn't seem to indicate such to be the case. I have "played around with" the settings a great deal over time and this issue in particular sure seems to have ever gone un-triggered...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Yeah, perhaps if the reboot time is short, depending on the refresh rate of the script; although I've got to wonder how much sooner the application can set the time than it takes the newly-booted system to access NTP.

    WireGuard and Traditional QOS

Got to ask: when was (how long ago) the last time you tried making everyone happy /without/ QOS? Has nothing changed at all since then?
