    5G modem/router with VPN support?

I guess I'd peruse this list.

    BQ16 Pro Quad Band

Such questionable information could be more easily satisfiable if the (original?) US dollar symbol of a capital U superimposed on a capital S had (and was used) its own character value.

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

If you don't have need for either (easily) propagated guest network, or centralized control, then the currently-better option for performance is most definitely as router / AP.

    Solved GT-AX11000 Crashing randomly

Already was for me, but glad it's mutual.

Wait a minute. Loading a power supply and checking its capability is neither practical nor recommended, by you? A little respect has indeed just been lost.

    GT-AX11000 Pro & 9 XT8 Nodes for business?

To be fair, the "customers" are most likely "vacationers". An "all Asus 'home router' solution" might work entirely "well enough" for the task at hand.

    Solved GT-AX11000 Crashing randomly

But then again, I've never been told "you have too much knowledge and experience" for a "shift electrician" job applied-for, until quite recently... So perhaps I am "missing something".

    Solved GT-AX11000 Crashing randomly

I've never seen a lightbulb do that and fail in any harmful way. Have you?

    Solved GT-AX11000 Crashing randomly

Load that brick and check its output if you want to eliminate it from the suspect pool. Personally, I only ever expend that kind of energy or effort if it seems even remotely plausible to be of value. I'd /most/ likely not peruse the second-hand market in the first place. Although it's...

    Solved GT-AX11000 Crashing randomly

Got a kilowatt lightbulb handy? Or some you can series-connect? I'm sure I could whip that up with what I've got "in stock". Anyway, as usual (and expected!) your argument is both pendantic and appreciated.

AiMesh multi-band security issue - network can become unsecured!

There's your problem! 24_hr usage for a full year is 365.242 days. Your math is off by a factor of 1.0002!

    Tailscale on Asus RT-AX86U router

Didn't take the time to totally suss your info, but in the end, the problem arose from a running process "actively using" a file you tried to overwrite. The easy solution is to "end" that process beforehand.

    Solved GT-AX11000 Crashing randomly

No, but gotta wonder if you've ever heard of incandescent light bulbs. They can work a treat for dissipating power.

    Solved GT-AX11000 Crashing randomly

If you haven't yet "nuked" it as per L&LD's suggestion, by all means do so. Measuring the unloaded voltage output of the power brick only tells you what that is. Use Ohm's law to determine what value resistor you'd need to put across the terminals along with your volt meter to see if the...

AiMesh multi-band security issue - network can become unsecured!

We've got more available options than most mainstream manufacturers offer. I guess it's hard to guess, and test, every possible combination. I don't harshly fault them for missing this situation, and am fairly confident that they'd hop right on it if made aware.

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

Do the "tons of CVEs" pertain to anything you use in the way mentioned in the CVEs, or are you ranting theoretically?

I lose connection every few days in the mornings. No internet when we wake up.

About the date / time, there's no battery-operated clock like in your PC, so it always boots up with the same hard-coded date / time, which only gets updated when a time server gets contacted. I'll assume that if one were to use their router in such a way there was no outside-network available...

Network Map - View List Button?

Well, to be frank, the whole process is a hit-or-miss proposition anyway for displaying what-all's connected. Getting the underlying code working correctly should be a higher priority. I'd like to take this moment to seek knowledge. The web interface port status information indicates an...

How do I know if VPN is working?

Haha, but perhaps likely? The NSA specifically monitoring /all/ "VPN'd" traffic 'cause "here's somebody trying to hide something." Don't have a clue either way, just a passing notion while reading threads such as this...

    Solved GT-AX11000 Crashing randomly

Okay, actually just whipped this up and it works on three different units in use here. Note that there may be some unobvious replication of data. Some of the MTD "things" are really not, but instead are "virtual" (alternate) representations of others. That's to say if you have two "devices"...
