Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12_6 is now available for AC models

@RMerlin Is there a newer GPL in sight for the 386 branch, for AC68U more specifically? AFAIK this latest release is still based on GPL 386_51997.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12_6 is now available for AC models

    @heywire @Tech9 I think there's some misunderstanding here. I've read @heywire's links above: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-ac86u-wifi-drop-outs-slow-and-fluctuating.82334/post-849740...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12_6 is now available for AC models

Sorry for pushing your buttons, man. Maybe I'm wrong.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12_6 is now available for AC models

I don't think there will be a next GPL for AC models any time soon. Most of them will get end-of-life'd, unfortunately.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

I'm fortunate as well, not using any of those. I mean, connect the fridge to the WiFi? Are you fricking kiddin' me? Just another extra headache to manage. Aren't our lives easier without them?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

@Woody How much are you paying for that 80Mb internet?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

@TnF I'm investigating where the WiFi issues come from on 386.12_2. I suspect the WDS fixes on AC68U / AC88U or the upgrade to OpenSSL 1.1.1v / w I don't think OpenVPN 2.6.7/8 has anything to do with it. It may somehow also be caused by the dcd crash fix. Do you have Trend Micro enabled?

Electrons move! Huh, had no idea :)

I'd really have a ton to say to refute that statement, but won't. Give this a try: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1645020096/?tag=snbforums-20

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Nothing wrong IMHO. I automatically turn off WiFi during the night - I sleep better. No tinfoil hat, though.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

I don't think it is, since the tagged 386.12_2 doesn't list it https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/commits/386.12_2 386.12_x neither https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/commits/386.12_x However, the 386_x branch includes it (see the two most recent Classification page related...

AC68u fast blinking power light from time to time (nvram issue)

How do you know there were flash cells that were killed? Can you get a report with reallocated sectors or something like that?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Can we rule out that the asd crash has absolutely nothing to do with the dcd issue?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

@Woody The improvements you are seeing with the latest 386.12_1 alpha are probably due to one of these updates/fixes from https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/blob/386.12_x/Changelog-386.txt

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Thank you! Has anyone tried the new test build RT-AC68U_386.12_1-g0251ee445a.trx ?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Very strange, indeed. Do you know whether this occurs on all AC devices or only on some of them? Also, has this ever been an issue on AX routers? (haven't been following AX model reports lately, hence the question)
