Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Thank you for sharing this information & pointing it out to others... Logically speaking... the MORE processes running & initiated via USB... obviously the greater the chances of this happening. Especially considering the recent findings of "STUCK" processes. Again... most common on the Ol'...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Over the years... I've heard different things regarding the USB removal recommendation. -Heard that during a Firmware Upgrade Not doing so... increased the risk of file corruption on that USB-device -Recently, I read the reason for removing the USB was to release some of the resources that get...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

    Did I mention... I really "Hate" IPv6... ;-)

OR, Perhaps not so STRANGE as I seem to recall reading somewhere... For 1G to even function, It needs to be set to AUTOMATIC Negotiation. (However I'm just going from my "Muddy" Memory) EDIT: thinking about it logically (in some instances) a 1G connection might have to Negotiate with a slower...

Intermittent loss of Wi-Fi since upgrading to 386.7

Sorry I really hate when double negatives are used for config settings & find them confusing. To clarify did you mean... Disable Asusnat tunnel = No dhcpd: send empty WPAD with a carriage return = No ? ?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Sorry L&LD but I have to side with RMerlin on this topic... & here is why. Under the pretense of security time & time again... more & more encryption adds several layers of "non-human readable" content. So... something as simple as a (Link or URL) which previously could be verified "by a...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

OMG we cannot say thank you "ENOUGH" for all your efforts + I also HATE IPv6, myself (but as I said earlier... I don't think it's going away). Good Luck & hopefully there is some additional help to resolve these IPv6 issues ;-)

@Sneakytiki I also should have asked, "Aggregate to WHAT?" meaning are you combining 2 router's Ethernet ports & connecting them with: -An IP-Provider's Cable Modem -The AiMesh Node I ask this because... I often read Keep the AiMesh Nodes on stock firmware but... With all the significant...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Sorry for all your troubles, & I can sympathize with today's families being so reliant on technology... any network disruptions can be a real challenge. What I had completely missed via our earlier conversation & I'm not sure if RMerlin caught it himself was... YOU ARE USING AGGREGATION. I...

Really, well I guess I better start playing with this IPv6 Cr@p soon... as it seems it's not going away, thx (I think)

Huh, 64 is bigger than 48... isn't it???

Good Catch, I always throw an "L" in there for some reason... HITRON it is :-) Thanks, I'll take a closer look hopefully I can access the HITRON configuration re: IPv6. But Officially... I cannot find any mention of SHAW supporting IPv6 with it "yet", hmmmmm.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Thank you for identifying & reporting this IPv6 issue with the RT-AX86U. I myself have the same 'PRIMARY" Router & was going to start fiddling with IPv6 but soon realized... I'm with SHAW & my DOCSIS Modem/Router unit is their HILTRON unit. Despite it apparently having the capability... SHAW has...

Yup, newer cfe was causing some RT-AX86U to BRICK... asus is still testing, meanwhile RMerlin removed it for the time being.

160mHz is as wide a frequency range as possible meaning the chance of radio interference is that much greater + to use 160 you are within the DFS range. Meaning any radar signal detected & the router is basically mandated to drop the DFS ch & effectively your 5G/6 radio will essentially restart...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

I think... this behavior has to do with NOT flushing caches & the change (is/was) deliberate. Have you heard the saying Not used RAM is wasted RAM? But I'll go make some-popcorn & sit waiting for someone such as @RMerlin to explain it LOL

    My experience with the RT-AC86U

I also have my doubts about relying on too many "automatic modes" but it might not even be fair to assume the router is wrong because... What if a couple of the neighboring routers are also on "automatic channel selection"... they frequency hop, we frequency hop... It sounds like a Happy...

    My experience with the RT-AC86U

I'm asking because I "currently" have my RT-AX86U set on automatic channel (Which has selected 36). Yet I'm fairly certain I had better signal strength via my older RT-AC-68U when placed in the same location. Hence I might try the manual setting within the 149-161ch range when I get home from work.
