    [ 386.11alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Yes indeed, your attempt was unsuccessful however IMO the instructions in the first post could have been made somewhat clearer. (Especially to people unfamiliar with Linux-type commands). My guess is you failed to change into the correct directory before issuing the command Try again using...

WG Server test with flowcache bypass

@Morris nice explanation... but IMO this misunderstanding is going to become more & more common place as 1G ISP connections become the new normal. And here's the rub.... most people don't really need the additional speed. Of course newer technology keeps finding uses that gobble up more & more...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.9 is now available for AC models

@Tech9 That is indeed discouraging, I'm still hoping the next release will hammer-out a few more dents but I do understand how patience can wear-out. I also agree that when certain features are advertised & discovered to be broken... every attempt should be made to fix or AT-LEAST clarify &...

No 2.4g Wifi on AX86U after Merlin 388.1 stable (SOLVED)

Have you tried using a short USB extension... just like 1-to-3 feet... maybe enough to get the noise away from the antennas & chassis. + You could elevate the router slightly & leave the Hard-drive/USB-Stick on the original surface. + as bbunge mentioned above, use well shielded cables.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

@srkbear Oh Boy that's a mouthful, but I'll give you an opinion. It depends on how much time you have & how picky you are about everything working. It could just work. But for some... to get Mesh nodes discovered while using RMerlin firmware... we had to momentarily plug them into the main...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.9 is now available for AC models

@teo1966 Does indeed look wrong but I need to ask... Have you've already tried a browser refresh (Ctrl+F5 Key-Combo)?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

@glens You're missing the point... There's considerable evidence within these forums to suggest, 160MHz is not working PROPERLY with firmware 388.1. I have experienced BOTH, had it working for a while & then it's stopped & I haven't been able to get it to reconnect with my (one & only) AX...

What are people doing with non-supported Routers like the RT-AC87U?

Not sure how much space you have but, I took an old RT-AC66U... & use it primarily as a switch for some extra Ethernet ports with an added benefit. The benefit is cloned WiFi, especially when doing firmware updates on the other router. Most of the time... I have BOTH Radio's turned off & use the...

    NEW ExpertWiFi by Asus

Curious, was that a reference to the old style... (Serial Data Networks)?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Oh I AGREE 100%, IMO it's definitely an over-site on the part of ASUS. I'm still using "Connected by TCP" smart bulbs which use a 100 Mbps Ethernet port on the HUB. Newer isn't always better LOL

    NEW ExpertWiFi by Asus

I have to admit... this makes me somewhat nervous. It will be interesting to see how ASUS chooses to differentiate certain features & options between their various product models. IMO this has marketing written all over it. I really hope they don't try to remove any of the recent add on...

Does Auto Channel ever change the channel?

LOL I remember that happening & I'm almost positive the person who made light of it was Tech9 (But I could be mistaken)... they even posted some images of insects etc

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

@Caesar the Dictator : IMO there's a general misunderstanding about what WireGuard (is/isn't) most people quickly go from a fairly basic remote connection into full-blown (encryption/scrambling/obfuscation). When initially testing WireGuard, I quickly learned that many networks implore deep...

Even better & thanks for the correction. As @dave14305 would know best ;-)

WG Server test with flowcache bypass

@supe IMO after RMerlin implements flowcache bypass, ditching CAKE & switching to FlexQOS may be a better option for those on asymmetrical ISP packages (with speeds less than 500Mbps). The only downside is the additional requirement of a USB-Stick or USB-Drive.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.9 beta is now available for AC models

Well (as you know all too well) there is no IDEAL one-solution for ALL. However, there used to be some typical usage for home networking environments. Ex) Less than 25 clients & maybe Max ISP speeds of say 250Mbps. But alas as these routers try to handle more & more clients @ faster & faster...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.9 beta is now available for AC models

I feel bad for all those who are experiencing unreliability with their AX86U/S... twasn't very long ago that there was "almost" a consensus within these forums & that WAS... The AX86U was probably the most reliable & best value for the $$ Hopefully, it will get resolved, soon. EDIT: It sucks...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.9 beta is now available for AC models

Sooooo, In your opinion is there "currently" more (bugs/gremlins) with the AX86S hardware/software combo than the older more mature AX86U? Perhaps many of the recent issues are actually more exclusive to the newer hardware?

WG Server test with flowcache bypass

@RMerlin OMG Eric... sometimes I don't think we appreciate you enough. This news certainly has exceeded my expectations. Thanks AGAIN!!!
