[384.15_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

Oh dear, when are we 87U/3200'ers going to join the party? C'mon Asus, send out to RMerlin those invitation cards! ;)

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Damn, if I only could remember my Github password... ;) But seriously, once challenged Adamm would have all that done by boxing day... I'd rather think he's eating and drinking with his family ;)

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Certainly for the rest of 2019 you're off the hook now, but for 2020 how about adding a few IDS/IPS modules, full SNMP support, firing out email alerts and having Skynet talking with other Skynet routers to exchange new threats? :p Just kidding mate, have a great holiday and a happy new year!!!

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

I've just tried going via amtm: [i] Downloading filter.list | [1s] [i] Refreshing Whitelists | [7s] [i] Consolidating Blacklist | curl: option -fsLZ: is unknown curl: try 'curl --help' for more information [7s] [i] Filtering IPv4 Addresses | [6s] [i] Filtering...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Bingo, that explains why it was working for me since the beginning, I always run Skynet directly using an alias "f" as it's faster than going via amtm.

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Could other running scripts be interfering with this? Looking at Zastoff's sig he has 2 scripts I don't have, DNSCrypt-proxy and scMerlin.

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

    7.0.2 working on my 87U. [i] Downloading filter.list | [1s] [i] Refreshing Whitelists | [7s] [i] Consolidating Blacklist | [9s] [i] Filtering IPv4 Addresses | [5s] [i] Filtering IPv4 Ranges | [0s] [i] Applying New Blacklist | [14s] [i]...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Doesn't it work without that modification? Strange as my 87U does. I wonder if it has something to do with me rebooting the router after installing entware's curl as I had been doing some other script changes, maybe a reboot is needed for the entware's version to be picked up and used instead of...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Indeed and with that logo Skynet's self-awareness can't be far now. When we see it flashing that'll probably be it :)

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

That's what I also thought when I first read Safemode's post but then he posted his curl version and it's the entware one. 7.0 is a lot faster than 6.9, showing the stats takes a lot less time. Worth updating IMO.

poor LAN performance on 384.13.1 (AC87U)

Glad to hear that and yes Linux is a much better OS, I've been using for years and never looked back and before I was using Mac OS X, Windows is just a no go IMO. If you want an even better distro try Manjaro.

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

    7.0.1 works on my AC87U. [i] Downloading filter.list | [0s] [i] Refreshing Whitelists | [7s] [i] Consolidating Blacklist | [8s] [i] Filtering IPv4 Addresses | [6s] [i] Filtering IPv4 Ranges | [0s] [i] Applying New Blacklist | [13s] [i]...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Downloading curl from Entware and commenting the "export PATH" line fixed the problem on my AC87U, thanks Adamm and Twiglets.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

Thank you for confirming that Asus were still making AC87U's in 2018, hopefully we can expect few more years of support from them, though it probably won't get the 384 codebase due to it having a separate Quantenna chipset for the 5 Ghz radio. Hopefully Asus can continue providing RMerlin with...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.14 (and 384.13_2) are now available

I've updated my RT-AC87U to 384.13_2 and it's all looking good. Thank you RMerlin for your continued support of these routers. Let's hope Asus will be as good. Will a large multinational corporation be able to keep up with one professional doing this on his spare time?

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Good support equals money and hopefully Asus know that. These routers were sold brand new on Amazon until not long ago and the people who bought them will expect a reasonable support timeframe, Asus are providing updates for them and I'm sure they will also keep up giving RMerlin the binary...

Connecting 2 VLANS for 2 Guest Wifi

OK, mine works with 8. Have you tested for any performance problems as they were reported later on that thread? Try streaming some video over the guests wlans.

Connecting 2 VLANS for 2 Guest Wifi

Looking at the robocfg show command, the CPU port (port 8) doesn't have the new vlans configured on it, so the robocfg commands should be: robocfg vlan 100 ports "0t 8t" robocfg vlan 200 ports "0t 8t" and not have "0t" only as I wrote a few posts back, I overlooked this as I adapted my script...

Connecting 2 VLANS for 2 Guest Wifi

Are you sure you're running your AC87U in AP mode and not in router mode? Could you post the output of robocfg show and brctl show after a reboot?

Connecting 2 VLANS for 2 Guest Wifi

No need to run the script once manually, just create the scripts in /jffs/scripts/, make them executable with chmod a+rx /jffs/scripts/* and then reboot the AC87U so you can confirm that your services-start script does run correctly at boot and you're seeing the vlans and the bridges the way you...
