Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

Could be. Grateful it worked. :D No idea why http://router.asus.com/ doesn't work, but don't care. Everything else working great. :D

Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

Well, worked through that problem. Can't seem to access the router via http://router.asus.com/ and my 'hosts' entry of http://dacasus/ did not have access, but going explicitly to http://192.168.1.1/ seemed to do the trick. Finished configuration and all seems stable and wife/son back online...

Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

Through upgrade to 386.9 successfully. Logged in and all looked great! "WPS reset again." OK. Came back on. Asked for password. Asked "Change the router login password." Changed login and password. Asked to login. New login didn't work. Only admin/admin worked. Change router login...

Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

Yeah, I even documented the individual files from JFFS that are relevant in my post. Wife going for a morning massage and finally given permission to do or die. :D Wish me luck!

Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

No I didn't. I downgraded but can try that again when the wife is at swim class tomorrow... Anything else "special" other than factory reset to reinitialize the router? Here's the plan, if "no": 1) upgrade to 386.9 again 2) press and hold the reset button on the router until the power light...

Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

Writing so others who have an RT-AC68U can comment. Have to admit defeat. The NVRAM was staying consistent but the wifi regularly cut out a couple of times a week, forcing a reboot and unhappy family. Thanks Colin for all the help. Each step did seem to make things better. I just think that...

Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

Ran for 5 days and then wifi went out again. One final NVRAM entry I see in my case that needs help. qos_rulelist seems to be large (1716) and filled with my original configuration to prioritize individual machines, along with a likely header of "=<Web...

Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

Whew! All's well that ends well. Knowing the difference between the host name (internal to dnsmasq.conf.add, no NVRAM space) and the client name (GUI, lots of NVRAM in custom_clientlist) made all the difference. I used smart reference names in dnsmasq.conf.add that show up in the GUI with no...

Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

I have an Asus RT-AC68U and found our old thread here because after upgrading to 386.9, I too am getting NVRAM shortage alerts. Been running clean since last posting here in 2020 and no changes other than firmware since then. With the current firmware version running, after a day or so, it...

RT-AC68U link aggregation with Synology DS220+/DS720+

Wow! :D Absolutely *NONE* of you said what I wanted to hear, but ultimately might be telling me what I need to hear. Now I'm thinking of switching to the DS920+ model, which does have dual ethernet, but has the higher bay space and a better processor. Thinking I go with 4 smaller drives...

RT-AC68U link aggregation with Synology DS220+/DS720+

https://www.androidcentral.com/synology-2020-nas-ds220-plus-ds420-plus-ds720-plus-ds920-plus I've never owned a NAS before and have had intermittent problems using an external HD connected to the USB3 port on my RT-AC68U. Synology has a new NAS that's exactly what I've been waiting for. One...

Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

Here are some specific lines in my config, editing out the exact MAC info: ###----- Kwikset devices (50 series) dhcp-host=68:47:49:AA:AA:AA,KwiksetHaloFront,192.168.1.51,1440 ###----- MyQ devices (50 series) dhcp-host=64:52:99:AA:AA:AA,MyQGarageMain,192.168.1.53,1440...

Request: move custom_clientlist, dhcp_staticlist, and dhcp_hostnames from NVRAM to jffs

I was just about to type the dnsmasq.conf.add to pay back those who helped me with the exact same solution. Almost had the exact same post. Making this post to add the only other piece of information to add to the puzzle. I too had a very old configuration that suddenly had the "!" warning...

    DHCP Server: Manual or Auto?

I have an RT-AC68U. I now generally have 5+ computers and 20+ devices on at all times. When I used the Asus Merlin GUI to allocate my IP addresses, it worked great until I had so many new smart devices that my NVRAM memory was all but gone. I ran some NVRAM cleaners and it almost bricked my...

    Client list never updates

Currently using firmware version 384.16. I don't know if it was fixed in the current version or flashing it made a difference, but wanted to report that this is no longer a problem. Thanks if it was a change (didn't see it in the change log), and especially thanks to those who helped me...

    Client list never updates

Don't think I have a "bridge" or a "repeater". Just this router connecting everything in the house, most wifi, 3 things on the Ethernet ports. I think the upstairs/downstairs Ring boxes might themselves be repeaters for the individual cameras, but they never were intended to show up on the...

    Client list never updates

I got the script from here, and that is the output of the "clients" command with a sort filter: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Xentrk/Asuswrt-Merlin-Linux-Shell-Scripts/master/profile.add # List active LAN Clients from the command line # Usage: clients clients() { GREEN='\033[0;32m'...

    Client list never updates

Well if that's the answer, no problem... But this same router and same allocation configuration worked for over two years perfectly in the GUI, when configured with the GUI. Using the dnsmasq.conf.add with a fresh install is when things have changed. Wondered if it was the firmware, dnsmasq...

    Client list never updates

The two snapshots were taken at the same time. MiBoxTFOfficeW (.1.83) has been running all morning but invisible in the GUI. Wife on her computer Poppy (.1.16) all morning, but not on the GUI. The Wii MIGHT have been on when booting, but not now (shows GUI, not PuTTY). Figured more data...
