Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

Tested as you suggested and works like a charm. :D Just want to make sure the script isn't looking at the ya-malware-block.urls file being edited or something like that. Because, in my case, that file is always the same and not the issue here. As a script noob I can't understand how you fixed...

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

Thx! Also read your Git comment. To make sure I understand it correct. I don't change my ya-malware-block.urls file at all. It's just the active urls in it make I often go up and down around 65k. Simply because the content changes a bit grabbed from the urls. Does your change account for that?

Hmmm, got a few of these in my log. Never seen before. Nothing, close before or after, in the log that could be related. Weird. Oct 19 22:44:46 watchdog: restart httpd, error detected or process not responding (6) Oct 19 22:44:46 rc_service: watchdog 399:notify_rc stop_httpd Oct 19 22:44:47...

Is there a way to block certain ip from WAN?

You didn't tell us which router you use. Depending on the model some scripts will not work. Check the wiki to see what will run on your router.

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

Have a look at post #420. You can make the script even better by implementing what's mentioned there. (Put the code in between the "esac" and "startTS" command to the ya-malware-block.sh script.) I hope @redhat27 will add this, but he seems to be offline quite a lot.

So you missed post #825 and #1011? ;)

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

The opening post of this thread is not that clear if you ask me. "Currently this script is only supported for Asus Routers with IPSet v6" Remove the word 'Currently' to leave out any room for doubt.

Do you have this script running on a RT-N66U? To my understanding this will not work because of old Ipset version. (v4)

How to Dynamically Ban Malicious IP's using IPSet (Martineau version)

I edited the Wiki so it reflects this script only works with Ipset v6.

It's not that simple. However I'm not sure you're interested to listen to that.

No such thing. For example ethernet switches are often without power switch.

    Country blocking script

Added below code which works fine on my RT-N66U. (Add the four lines just above the "# Country blocking by nethashes...." comment line in 'create-ipset-lists.sh'.) It does makes the existing check that prevent the lists from being loaded if they are already loaded ... kind of obsolete. However...

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

No problem. Welcome back. It was almost time for a "Where the hell is redhat27?" thread. :D

    Country blocking script

The above seems to interact unexpected, not sure if this is how it should work. When the script is run for the first time after boot, it will download new /jffs/ipset_lists/country.lst files if older then 15 days. However every time you run the script again, e.g. cron job, country.lst files...

    Country blocking script

Added this script using services-start. Working really well on my RT-N66U. If you add the US remember to whitelist Google DNS. Of course, don't load the us.lst at all, if you live in the US. ;)

Makes sense. I picked a random minutes number, which I will not tell you. :p So it stays random. :D

Cool, guess they can use your NVRAM Save/Restore Utility to ease the pain.

OK :) And what about the factory reset? Is that needed for the next release?

Ehhh John, what have you been smokin'? :D Please no factory reset. And why not leave it in? Been there for ages and doesn't do any harm. (Keep variables close to stock firmware. You never know.)
