I'll write an instruction later - how to install python modules that require compilation using pip. I do not know about any instructions you are speaking about.

    minidlna alternative

That is true. There are about 50 commits in 2013, and no commits in 2012 and 2011. Still the source in git is newer then the last official release. The main advantage of mediatomb is transcoding. It requires a lot of CPU power, but there are reports (on my old forum) that video container...

Just try and report here. Statical linking can be tricky with glibc. Try not to use ld, use gcc. ld does not know where to find some static libs. Other problems can arise from running statically linked glibc binary in uclibc environment.

Probably too many updates now. entware.zyxmon.org is hosted in Netherlands. I have tried to download 300MB file from Sweeden and USA now. The speed was not great but is admissible: 27,8 MB/s and 13,8 MB/s respectively. Where are you from? What can be your help? PS I have enabled a clouflare...

    Entware-arm - synced with Entware (mips) 2015.09

Better use the solution you've found. There can be many dlna servers on one host - they should have different "names" and use different ports.

    Entware-arm - synced with Entware (mips) 2015.09
