    RT-AX88U Merlin support?

Or you can do this way: AX88U - main router running Merlin fw. (LAN port) || || (LAN port) AC88U running stock fw - set as Aimesh in AP mode! And set AC86U to be the node of AC88u. Also, read all posts in the 2nd link I gave carefully.

    RT-AX88U Merlin support?

For AC5300 but I guess many things can apply for your router (Disclaimer: I have neither AC5300 nor AX88U, just came across those guides recently :) ) https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac5300-performance-security-guide.45710/...

pixelserv pixelserv - A Better One-pixel Webserver for Adblock

It looks like the "manifest.google.com" method is taken from this reddit post. Don't know if kvic has performed extensive test with that method to deploy it to public. Because the reddit guide is NOT to block that subdomain, but assign it to the IP of the server located near you. I tried the...

    384.7 USB not mounting,

Btw, what's the model/brand of your USB drive? Do you use it on the USB 3.0 port?

Trying to change language from Japanese to English on ASUS RT-AC86U

Most of the time it might be because the jffs/custom config is not enabled properly. Just disable it -> reboot -> enable it (also tick "Format on next reboot") -> Apply -> Reboot. And Martineau used "mv" command just to rename the script to services-start. So, obviously you should be in the...

    USB drive keeps getting corrupted

Yeah, actually I tried NTFS and it worked fine. Currently, my HDD drive is partitioned into 2 partitions: - one is formatted as ext4-without-journaling and used to run add-on scripts - one is formatted as NTFS and used to save video files from IP Camera.

    384.7 USB not mounting,

Sounds similar to an issue I read while searching for a way to properly prepare my usb drive for use with my routers. Anyway, I have posted the steps here, you can try: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/diversion-the-router-ad-blocker.48538/page-71#post-447604

amtm amtm - the Asuswrt-Merlin Terminal Menu

You should only use ext2 or ext4-without-journaling. I have posted instructions for making a drive compatible with our routers, you can read here: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/diversion-the-router-ad-blocker.48538/page-71#post-447604

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Hey, ok, let's try this. 1. Do you know if there is some swap file existed? If yes, disable swap and remove that file. cd /tmp swapoff /path/to/swapfile rm /path/to/swapfile 2. Run "mount" command to see if your USB drive is mounted and run "umount" to unmount it: mount umount -f /dev/sda...

It seems that your ISP has improved the connection line on their end.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Btw, what app and on which platform did you format the USB drive?

Which USB flash drive to use for installing Apps on Asus 86u

Unless you know things, just let the partitioning program choose automatically, i.e. Default.

my AC3100 wifi settings - any room for improvement?

So in this situation enabling/disabling explicit bf wouldn't make any difference anyway, and the usual recommendation is still correct. Alright, you obviously know your things :)

my AC3100 wifi settings - any room for improvement?

Unless you specifically know your things, as far as I know, the usual recommendation is to disable Universal Beamforming first or all Beamforming features, never heard that Explicit Beamforming should be disabled first.

Looking for Router/Gateway with Greater Security than traditional consumer equipment

After some reading, I think I see some reasons you chose Untangle - they're considered one of the most two generous providers regarding free versions of commercial products. The other is Sophos. These things obviously will take a lot of time. Just for the setup, I would have to consider between...

    some strange problem about internet

You make me remember that Skynet on my setup usually said there was no internet activity, while the author said that Skynet is programmed to ping github & google for online status, which meant the script tried to ping those sites but got no result. I run an OpenVPN server and there is a remote...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

And if you're using Chrome, it sometimes will bypass your DNS setting to use Google DNS. Just search "Chrome Async Dns" and disable it if you want.

Which USB flash drive to use for installing Apps on Asus 86u

As long as it is a HDD/SSD, it will likely work fine. Don't have your specific drive for testing so I can't say for sure, though. I have a MyPassport Ultra powered by the router's USB 3.0 port.

Looking for Router/Gateway with Greater Security than traditional consumer equipment

Thank you @MichaelCG, and @gattaca for your great write up! @gattaca, could you tell more about the reason you ditched the MANY routers in point 17? I used to have some experience using Linksys routers with DD-WRT, Tomato, and after I got Asus routers I thought they got the best custom...

USB Flash Drive Size for Diversion and Skynet

Oh, its hard to find a 512MB stick these these days, so it must have been some old brand? I wonder how fast it is. If its slow, I'm afraid it would gradually make your router slow. EDIT: in case you may not know, try the iozone app by kvic to test your usb speed...
