Upgrade to Symmetrical Gigabit - Need to Upgrade my Asus RT-AC3100 (RMerlin FW: 384.17)

For what it's worth the AC3100 is more than capable of attaining the full speeds of your fiber service. I had a 3100 for a little bit and could easily hit 940 Mbps both ways. That said, I could also hit 940 both ways on my older 68U as @mackworth mentioned. I'm curious of what "standard...

uiDivStats uiDivStats - WebUI for Diversion statistics

Nice to hear it's also working for you as we have almost the identical setup except I'm using ext2. old USB2-Stick, 8 GB capacity, 2GB SWAP (ext2), plugged in the USB3-Port but downgraded to USB2 in the GUI

uiDivStats uiDivStats - WebUI for Diversion statistics

@TheMorpN is showing similar DSK values and GUI cpu activity that I experienced. To add more info on my setup I am using an old USB 2 stick on the USB 3 port that is set to USB 2 mode. I'm not using samba, ftp server or dlna on the router nor Qos or AiProtection.

uiDivStats uiDivStats - WebUI for Diversion statistics

Yes, I am looking in the system log for the "complete" message. My initial atop didn't show this but I'm seeing it now. It's hard to see but it's showing the dsk busy 100%. After uninstalling uiDivStats the GUI cpu graph settles down and my USB stick light stops flashing non stop. And now...

uiDivStats uiDivStats - WebUI for Diversion statistics

Good catch. htop is not showing the spikes when I monitor it and it is showing around 1-4% usage. But...the last log entry from uiDivStats is: Jun 17 11:05:23 uiDivStats: Starting first run of stat generation... Should there be a log entry stating that the generation has completed? It's been...

uiDivStats uiDivStats - WebUI for Diversion statistics

Here we go. Uninstalled 2.1.0 Deleted dnsqueries.db Installed 2.1.0 Diversion and scMerlin are the the only scripts I currently have installed on 384.17. It has been at least a year since a factory reset and looking at an old screen shot I took of Diversion after first installing the version...

uiDivStats uiDivStats - WebUI for Diversion statistics

Got a path not found with the rm command. I enabled samba so I could navigate the flash drive (Linux noob) and found the dnsqueries.db in this folder:\\RT-AC86U-7650\Diversion\entware\share\uiDivStats.d I deleted the folder which had the .db file and a csv folder. We'll give 2.1.0 a try.

uiDivStats uiDivStats - WebUI for Diversion statistics

I think I am having some of the issues that others have reported. I have been loosely following the thread so I apologize in advance if my question has been previously answered. A few days ago I upgraded uiDivStats to 2.0.0. Today I noticed that the stats tab was not showing up in the LAN...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.17 (and 384.13_8) are now available

You need to factory reset the router after installing the new firmware so that you start fresh with the new firmware's settings and default config.

Gigabit speed possible with VPN on router?

Using PIA the fastest speeds I've seen over OpenVPN using their client on a PC is in the mid to upper 300's in Mbps. Using my 86U as the client it's around 250-300 Mbps. And then there is WireGuard. This is using the PIA client on my old i5-2500K with WireGuard enabled.

    Firefox DoH and DoT?

Another way to look at it based on two different scenarios. #1 You use Diversion on your router to block ads Firefox DoH enabled: Firefox will bypass Diversion and therefore no router based ad blocking. DNS request are encrypted. Firefox DoH disabled: Firefox will not bypass Diversion and use...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

I'm guessing that @heysoundude is turning on their vpn when they leave their house mainly for general ad blocking when they are not at home as well as security if they connect to a public hotspot. The blocking of YouTube ads is just icing on the cake.

    Sold Out

Do you have any numbers to demonstrate the significance? My assumption was based on both having hardware accelerated AES and the faster cpu adding some speed.

    Sold Out

If you use OpenVPN you may get a little more throughput with the faster processor. Keep in mind that OpenVPN 2.x is single threaded. I don't think you'll noticed the extra 0.4 GHz in normal operation though.

spdMerlin spdMerlin - Automated speedtests with graphs

I lost my GUI tab also after upgrading to 3.5.2. Was still missing after a reboot so I uninstalled (kept stats and config) and reinstalled and the tab came back. Not quite as elegant as "spdmerlin startup" :)

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.17 (and 384.13_8) are now available

It is my understanding that using the ntpMerlin script gives you a little more control over the ntp servers that you are using and how they are used. It also adds fancy graphs to show how the ntp is performing. All the information you want and more is available here...

    Asus RT-AC68u NordVPN speed

I see that you aren't getting much faster speeds with WireGuard. I got the opposite results with PIA. On my i5-2500K machine I was getting around 300 Mbps with OpenVPN and switching to WireGuard was a huge improvement at 800+.
