Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Bingo! That’s it, Martin. Why didn’t I think of that? Refreshing the page does the trick. (For the record, identical behaviour in 3 different browsers, Edge, Safari and Chrome. But I’m sure that’s what you would have expected.)

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Sorry, Martin: no difference; when I select one of the other tabs, I still have to wait for the swirling circle to complete, and then - because the original tab remains on show - have to select that new tab a second time (and wait for the swirling circle to complete) before it will switch to...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

And looking at it again, I’m fairly sure that what I saw when I first tried the new UI was caused by this failure to change tabs on the first selection of the tab ie the need to select the tab a second time after the swirling circle has finished.

    RT-AC68U and 384.16.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

. Looking good now. I find I have to press the ‘buttons’ twice eg let’s say I’m on the Test 2 page and then select Home; I get the swirling circle and, when it stops, I’m still on the Test 2 page, so I select Home again, and, this time, when the swirling circle ends, I am, indeed, back on...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

On my RT-AC68U, Test One was fine; Test 2 not so good, and pressing Test One or Home no longer works

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

So you are running with Unbound as your primary DNS server (dnsmasq disabled) and yet Diversion still works for you? (cf what Tomsk wrote: “The downside is that anything that relies on dnsmasq likeDiversion wont work anymore.”)

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

I’ve seen that this is an experimental feature - making Unbound the primary DNS server, but what are the pros and cons of enabling this feature? Whilst searching through this topic for answers, one con seems to be that Diversion would no longer work; is that right?

AIProtection Alert - Troubleshooting the offending app

(No need to whitelist: both the app and the website worked perfectly anyway, despite that specific domain being clocked as malicious and blocked by AIProtection.) It’s not the possibility of AIProtection getting it wrong (eg a false positive) that bothers me at all. What AIProtection has...

AIProtection Alert - Troubleshooting the offending app

The threat listing is “Malicious Sites Blocking”

AIProtection Alert - Troubleshooting the offending app

Didn’t think of that. Given Apple’s reputation for one of the most secure (least insecure?) operating systems, you’d expect a thorough deletion of all files. (And you’d hope Apple’s vetting of all apps would pick up unauthorised phoning home.). And I’m not sure there’s any way to root...

    Port Trigger

With all your work for the forum, I didn’t think you could find time for playing games.

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Maybe randomName’s just adopting consistent and good practices so he doesn’t get sloppy or forgetful and later uses Notepad to edit something requiring Unix formatting and then wastes time asking why something won’t work? After all, he never said Notepad wouldn’t work. ;)

AIProtection Alert - Troubleshooting the offending app

Something on my iPhone tries to contact autodoc.bg. I’m running Merlin’s firmware (384.16) on an RT-AC68U along with Skynet, Diversion, Unbound Manager. I have all modules in AIProtection enabled. I get the occasional email alert (sometimes up to 2/3 times a week, sometimes once every...

    Disable NAT recommendation

Every time I see the setting to disable NAT, I think why would anyone do that? Clearly, that option is there for a reason so there must be certain exceptional circumstances when someone might want to disable NAT; what might they be?

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

Thanks. The good news: no YT ads; the bad news: not my cup of tea, at all.

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

I sent you a PM on 8 Feb congratulating you on your promotion. I know it’s not like getting a telegram from the Queen. :)

Factory reset Merlin Firmware - Help Please

You only need to factory reset AFTER flashing, although some people also do it beforehand as well (though this is generally considered to be unnecessary). Have a look at L&LD’s guide and come back with any questions...

Unbound unbound_manager (Manager/Installer utility for unbound - Recursive DNS Server)

I’m seeing the 2 DNS servers listed on my WAN page (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1)
