Do AiProtectipn Email Notifications Actually Work?

It used to work up to Feb 2021 or thereabouts for me. I had to use gmail with 2-factor authentication enabled but using an in-app password. if I try to set that up again now, ie reset the in-app password, I get the warning that in-app passwords only works where modern security standards...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Welcome to the forum. I’d try exporting a new OpenVPN config file from the router and importing it into each of your devices that remotely connect. Doesn’t take long, and there’s a very good chance it’ll fix it. Please tell us the result.

    AdGuard

Unbound Manager uninstalled and now dnsleaktest.com does indeed show Adguard as the DNS server. (The results using nslookup in the terminals including Termius, are as they were before uninstalling Unbound.) So, many thanks. This really has been a really valuable exercise, and it’s not...

    AdGuard

Thanks, Dave. “Clients’ queries will never reach AdGuard when Unbound is running.” Of course! I mistakenly thought a domain never requested before would be forwarded from Unbound to Adguard. Definitively time to ditch Unbound Manager and start again. I can’t remember learning as...

I’ve a query/observation, and because it’s come out of playing with the suggestions and advice given in this topic, I decided to put it here rather than start a new thread. RT-AC68U running Diversion (with pixelserv), Skynet, Unbound. Merlin 386.12. Router WAN DNS server setting is to...

DDNS does not update dyndns.org when WAN IP changes

I ran an nslookup on jbodnar.dyndns.org and it gives me an IP address of 136.62.143.228 I presume that’s not what your present IP address is?

You’re dead right. I should have remembered I’d encountered this problem with Apple devices a while back when turning on Apple Private Relay. Thank you for the reminder. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/s...all-other-devices-protected.80420/post-784615.

    AdGuard

You wrote: “I tried entering DNS numbers in the network>adapter>ip4 settings. No luck, something still overrides that.” If you have your router’s DNS Director setting set to the Router under Global Redirection, as I believe it needs to be, then I think that may well explain why it doesn’t...

Many thanks for clarifying that for me. I think I now see how I might have got the wrong end of the stick for that setting. Much appreciated.

And another thing: is your Global Redirection set to Router?

What about your setting Forward Local Domain Queries to Upstream DNS which you have set to Yes. I think it’s supposed to be set to No, otherwise your DNS query gets sent to your ISP’s server, I believe. Perhaps try changing that setting and see what happens.

    AdGuard

When I test https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock.html using my laptop (Edge or Chrome even with uBlock Origin turned off), I get completely different results to those obtained when I use my iPad (except for when I run Brave on the iPad with Shields Up) - from one extreme to the other! I don’t...

Hang on a minute. You have Forward Local Domain Queries to Upstream DNS selected to Yes. Now, please correct me if I’m wrong, but is that not the setting that sends the dns query to your ISP’s dns server? (Anyway, mine is set to No, but I seem to be seeing something similar to you...

I carried the DNS Leak Test, and whilst I didn’t see the 94.140 servers, This came up: 195.181.164.46 dns.adguard-dns.com. The “adguard” in the hostname giving reassurance. I used dnsleaktest.com. Did your leak test perhaps send you to another adguard server?

I have facebook, tiktok and twitter blacklisted in Diversion, and if ever I’m in any doubt as to whether or not Diversion is working, I try to connect to any of them. Of course, the only time Diversion doesn’t work is when I join a public wifi (or I select 4G/5G) having forgotten to connect to...

Diversion and Skynet run on my router. https://d3ward.github.io/toolz/adblock.html I’ve been looking at the differences, using that test site, when, for example, I use Brave with shields up and down as well as other browsers. I’ve also had a play with selecting Adguard as the DNS server on...

OpenVPN Server - Client Error Connecting

I know this is an old thread but I hit this problem today and want to offer a tip. For around an hour, I had this problem, trying to email the exported config file to myself and get a successful import. Not a problem for Server 1; for the second server, despite several exports and different...

    Diversion Diversion with OpenVPN

The settings shown in the 2 screenshots below should do the trick. Once you have correctly applied them, you will, of course, then need to export the config file to your device.

OVPN Problem. Asus rt ax56u (latest merlin firmware

I notice you have this log entry: “Linux ip -6 addr add failed: external program exited with error status: 2” I ran a Google search on that message and came up with this: https://airvpn.org/forums/topic/26548-linux-ip-6-addr-add-failed/ Have a look at the reply from AirVPN to the first post...

amtm ext4 partition with journaling - 15 GB size, 1150 GB of writes in 20 months

Don’t worry: mine works out at a similar 2GB per day over 3.5 years (on an RT-AC68U). I run Diversion, Skynet and Unbound Manager, uiScribe and uiDivstats. I use an SSD. [Edit: well, I thought I did; I just checked it and found I’m using an old 160GB hard drive!]. Never looked at this...
