Netgear x6 r7800 power light white brightness

LEDs over time wear out, especially when they're constantly working. White LEDs are made from blue ones, and blue ones wear out quickly. The rest of the LEDs are not constantly on (they flicker) like the power LED is.

An upgradable Router/NAS/PC all in one? Yes.

And when it breaks, you're out of PC, storage *and* network. I'll pass.

DLNA Receiver not found on XT8 mesh system

Most likely a double NAT issue. Either set the ISP modem/router to bridge mode and use the XT8 as router, or keep the ISP modem/router as is, and set the XT8 to Access Point mode

    48 port Switch vs 24, 16, 8 etc.

You must be a really unlucky chap. I've been rocking multiple switches, from small to big ones, for many many years all still in production and not even one of them has developed bad ports yet.

Voxel [ORBI RBK50 (RBR50,RBS50)] Suggestions on configuration for maximum range (on Voxel)

There is nothing in advanced settings that will increase the range. Range depends on transmit power and physics. If you already have found the optimal spots for your Orbi's, there are no magical switches to further increase range and the options your posted have little effect on range. btw, I...

    GS105 vs GS305

Unlikely. The one is 5-ports while the other is 8-ports. It's possible they use a slightly different switch chip or use the same but have disabled 3 ports in its firmware. No one really fully knows, and as others have mentioned, ask NG. @follower stop spewing crap!

    Gs305

I'm running 2 GS108 and 1 GS516v2 switches for years with no issues at all. They've seen multiple router changes and never gave any problems. The GS105 is the 5-ports version of the 8-ports SOHO-oriented switch (GS108). Most unmanaged switches are almost the same inside, so you can do little...

Raspberry Pi or Orange Pi for a DIY NAS ?

I have no idea where you guys pull out that Seagate drives are less reliable than WD ones - do you actually have factual information? No, BlackBlaze doesn't count! I've been using exclusively Seagate drivers for 10 years now and have yet to see one fail me so far. Most drives are IronWolf 4TB...

Voxel R9000 possibility for VLAN tagging (internal)

VLANs on NG routers are meant for specific ISP purposes where they may be needed for an ISP to function properly. They're not full-blown VLANs like you think they ara and cannot accomplish what you want.

.dsf and .aiff files not recognized as audio files in DLNA of ASUS routers

Most likely. MiniDLNA is developed as a seperate project by a (former?) NETGEAR employee. ASUS/Merlin take it as-is and incorporate it into the firmware. It's unlikely they'll backport or implement suppport for whatever the latest MiniDLNA upstream supports or doesn't support.

What is the meaning of this Kernel message "Tainted"

The Broadcom modules are considered 3rd party by the used kernel. That's why you get that message. You don't have to install anything yourself to see "Tainted"
