    Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.80SF & v. 1.0.2.80.4SF & v. 1.0.2.80.5SF

The R7800 is currently top of the class AC router NETGEAR has to offer, both for throughput and wifi coverage. I'd keep it working

Time to replace my Netgear R7800? Advice please?

You're overloading your router with all these Smart wireless gizmoz. On NG devices, maximum recommended devices per band is 32. That said, due to the very poor firmware state of NG routers these days, I'd go for an ASUS RT-AX58U. It's give or take in the same price range as the R7800 and almost...

    Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.80SF & v. 1.0.2.80.4SF & v. 1.0.2.80.5SF

@Voxel Any plans in updating radvd to the lastes (2.18) version? Currently, NG uses 1.5 which is pretty old

    Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.80SF & v. 1.0.2.80.4SF & v. 1.0.2.80.5SF

Voxel is basically stock with upgraded packages and some bugfixes. You can flash it and it will keep your settings - just upload the Voxel firmware image file. You can even return to stock and your settings will still be there. ReadyCloud and Kiwit do not work in AP mode. You don't have to...

Which WD RED is better for WD my Cloud

most Reds spin at 5400 RPM and the 7200 RPMs ones generate more heat than the former. Cache is not that important for a NAS. I'd go for the 4TB one

Which WD RED is better for WD my Cloud

Avoid the SMR Reds. They're usually indicated with EFAX in the product name

    R7800 Temperature

As long as you don't hit 75°C or higher, you'll be fine. Turn the cooler on only when it's hot/heatwave

1: No 2: Yes 3: You have to install the kamoj addon

    r7800 dhcp6s configuration

you can't. dhcp6s is horribly outdated on NG routers

    WD Red compatibility ?

That's not true. SMR drives perform worse all over the charts, regardless of file systems. Especially writes can bring it to a halt. There's a lengthy article at Ars Technica that shows that

Voxel Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.79SF

WPA3 will most certainly not come to the R7800 and I don't see Voxel adding it. A router also needs to be certified to be WPA3-compliant

    WD Red compatibility ?

EFAX are SMR drives and I'd avoid them for a NAS

Skipping this one. Nothing of importance to me... Thanks, though!

    Broadcom's hardware acceleration

LAN <-> LAN is switched, not routed, so it's not affected. CTF only works on routing

QoS is only beneficial for slow(er) lines. The closer you get to Gbps speed, the less you should use it

Kamoj Kamoj Add-on 5.1 Beta testing poll

@kamoj Noticed a small issue here. The reporting of CPU frequency is wrong. The first 3 are reporting in KHz while it should be in MHz. I don't think the CPU of the router does 600 KHz speed for example :) Core 0: 1.725 GHz (100.0 %) Core 1: 1.725 GHz (100.0 %) (384KHz 600KHz 800KHz...
