    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.76SF & v. 1.0.2.76.1SF

@Voxel fq-codel is already included in the firmware but there is no way to set it (/proc/sys/net/core/default_qdisc is missing). Can you turn on the kernel option to set the packet scheduler?

[R7800] Will no longer save settings after reboot.

The NVRAM is only a small, reserved part of the Flash chip where only configuration settings are stored and nothing else. ReadyShare and Traffic Meter write to other parts of the Flash chip

Kamoj Kamoj Add-on 5.1 Beta testing poll

I set it to run at 19h and it didn't so I waited until 21h and then it ran -- 2 hours later. At 19h I did a "ls -l /etc/blacklist.txt" to check the timestamp of the file. No change. At 21h I did the same and the timestamp was 21h. I also noticed that dnscrypt2 got restarted as it should but the...

Kamoj Kamoj Add-on 5.1 Beta testing poll

@kamoj AdBlock auto-update works. Though it appears to use GMT time instead of the one set by myself. I'm in the CET/CEST zone, so if I want it to update at 4 o'clock in the morning my time, have to use "0 2 * * *" here. Not a big deal. I'm happy it works now

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.76SF & v. 1.0.2.76.1SF

Oh, OK. I've not experienced this issue here. "Works for me(TM)"

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.76SF & v. 1.0.2.76.1SF

I've experienced this myself here and do not know the cause of it. Most of the time, the interface is fast but every now and then, when trying to connect to it or load another page, it takes up to 20 seconds to load.

Kamoj Kamoj Add-on 5.1 Beta testing poll

Yes, and it's already supported. Go to Advanced -> Kamoj Addon -> Router Info. Then go to the standard logs and it'll be there. Or, go to Kamoj's Settings and click on WiFi Info at the bottom

    Netgear R7800 Firmware Version 1.0.2.68

This is a known problem reported by others too. Going back to .62 is the only solution. Keep in mind that NG may remove miniDLNA if they plan to integrate Armor into the firmware. Don't depend on routers to be media servers. Use the right tool for the job which is a NAS system

At the same pricepoint - Netgear X10 R9000 or RT-AX88U?

You really think everyone can do it because you can? 98 or 99% of regular consumers go for and want one device/router that's easy to set up and do its job. Many of these people haven't even heard of Cisco because Cisco is not a consumer brand. People go to ASUS, NG, Linksys, TP-Link, etc. These...

At the same pricepoint - Netgear X10 R9000 or RT-AX88U?

While an avid NG user, I'd stay away from the R9000 and go with the AX88U. The former has quite some firmware stability issues

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.76SF & v. 1.0.2.76.1SF

Is there a possibility to update busybox? Or is that complicated?

The Netgear GUI has few options.

That's generally known about the suckage of NG firmware. I see you have RAX120. If you had an R7800/R8900/R9000 you could load up Voxel's firmware and install the kamoj addon which adds tons of options to the firmware. Extremely useful addon, supporting a lot of VPN and QoS features, including...

Kamoj Kamoj Add-on 5.1 Beta testing poll

I'm not sure, and I only yesterday checked if it works or not. I started using AdAway with the first Beta version of 5.1 when I got the link from you but never checked if it auto-updates. Yesterday I did

    R7800 SmallNetBuilder Review

That's because NETGEAR doesn't make the firmware. It outsources development to Delta Networks, Inc (DNI). They do everything, including the crappy QA, if at all
