    After I encountered a couple of places that blocked my "normal" UDP vpn, I configured a second openvpn server using TCP and port 443. This second config works fine, although it is a bit slower. A simple speedtest.net comparison yields 180Mbps for downloads / 9 ms ping time for the UDP server...

    OVPN server Bad encapsulated packet length...

    I see these all the time. I guess it is the price to pay for having this configuration. I also use 443/TCP for circumventing restrictions. If there is anything else I can do, I'm all ears...

    I'm afraid that my advice regarding JFFS is based on my knowledge of Asuswrt-Merlin firmware. It's been a while (several years) since I used ASUS stock firmware. If there is no JFFS backup option, then it's not necessary.

    First of all, I'd suggest you do a hard reset and manually config your router after flashing the newer firmware, because you are jumping over many versions. It would be a pity to have those "dirty" settings affect the performance, and get you to conclude that the new (and more secure) firmware...

    I don't see the option to add a tls-crypt-v2 key to the openvpn server. Is this just a GUI limitation or the OpenVPN version in AsusWRT Merlin does not allow it? I'm not even sure if this is recommended or not, just playing around with hardening my setup.
