    Cheapest supported router for AIMesh?

Ok, I'll bite. Try this page: https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/Wi-Fi-System-Products/ and an Amazon search for Asus routers priced low to high. My 1 minute search showed an AC1750 B1 for $74.99.

    Memory leak issue

I have the traffic analyzer turned off and the traffic history being routed to an ssd drive on an hourly basis, so it seems to be a different issue for me.

    Memory leak issue

Thanks for the feedback. My AX88 runs throughout the day at about 970 MB, that is, 30 MB or less free. It's working (my AC88 was constantly crashing). It's odd. I reboot once a day. There is one thing I'm doing that might be out of the ordinary, and that's link aggregation. I suppose for the...

    Memory leak issue

Would also be nice if someone would write a script to monitor memory and do a reboot at some percentage. Be a nice bandaid till things get sorted.

    Memory leak issue

Recently upgraded from an AC88 to and AX88, and it works wonderfully - except - memory is gobbled up over the course of a day. It typically starts out at 600M and climbs slowly to max over a 30 hour cycle, I, too, run diversion and skynet. If this is a leak, it was certainly unsustainable on the...

connmon connmon - Internet connection monitoring

I just uninstalled connmon, and for other reasons, peeked at the services-start file and 'connmon start" was still there. Guess it doesn't hurt anything, but you might want to look at your uninstall script.

    sacrifice child?

Couldn't - home phone is internet based ( Did you try the B&H link? Mine shipped yesterday. Pretty excited, especially with aimesh in the works.

    sacrifice child?

Thanks! Time for a mesh with 384_13!

    sacrifice child?

Waiting for a sale on the AX88.

    sacrifice child?

I believe you're on to something, thanks. It was 4:01 in the morning and there was chronjob activity just prior. Cleaning house!

    sacrifice child?

    Makes more sense.

    sacrifice child?

Well considering it's 512M of memory to start with, I'd say swap worked, but what in the heck is dnsmasq doing? Is this some massive memory leak? For now, I'll add another bandaid and reboot once a day (was every other day). Device works great when it works, and I expect I should be tortured...

    sacrifice child?

Running 384_12 (latest stable) on an AC88 with Diversion & Skynet with 2GB swap file. Had a crash (early in the morning hours with no load): kernel: Out of memory: Kill process 2306 (dnsmasq) score 16 or sacrifice child kernel: Killed process 2307 (dnsmasq) total-vm:1328kB, anon-rss:0kB...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

There is no science behind every 3 hours (I was thinking every hour at first). Three hours is the first thing I tried and it's working. As previously mentioned, I have a fairly noisy ISP that just doesn't care and their solution for everything is a $60 truck roll and a tech that shrugs his...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Skynet is the best in it's class, but I was plagued with "no internet connectivity" issues. Tried many things but this seems to have solved it: cru a restart_firewall "7 */3 * * * sh /jffs/scripts/firewall restart" Restarts Skynet every 3 hours at 7 min past the hour. Add that line to the...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

I'm not blaming Skynet, I think it's a wonderful script. I have a fairly lousy ISP that is overloaded by a nearby campus, and has considerable signal noise, but it's cheap. Pretty sure the overhead of 'privacy DNS' which I will NOT give up (my ISP also blatantly sells consumer's data), and the...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Several times in the last few days, Skynet appears to "time out" on me with a resulting, "no internet connectivity" message. Pretty sure it's related to Merlin's privacy DNS taking to long to connect on some rapid fire requests. I finally am just giving up, uninstalling Skynet, and going with...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Wanna' share your solution? Anyway, I believe that Linux only uses swap only when actual memory has been depleted. Are you using 100%+ memory on start-up? If so, maybe it's time to drop the scripts or upgrade to a router with more memory. Now, I could believe there is a problem with scripts...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Yes. I have the same behavior. I've done two things which seem to have helped (but still testing): 1. Dump the USB thumb drive and go to an SSD using a USB 3 enclosure (Ugreen or Sabrent semm to work fine). This really improves performance - and I'm sure it helps with startup. 2. If using the...

    Skip 384.13?

Was in a building the other day that didn't have a 13th floor. Decision time.
