    [ 386.13 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

A question as a precaution maybe... If ANYBODY is now apparently already capable of compiling a firmware for ASUS routers... Have safe are the these firmwares? Is there any danger for potential security threats like backdoors, integrated malwares etc.? I mean, of course we trust Merlin but...

    GT-AX6000+RT-AC68U=no aimesh

Try setting it up with direct LAN connection at first. Watch out; WPS should be on on your AX6000! Reset AC68U to factory firmware to default settings, wait a few minutes to properly load everything... Then connect it to your main AX6000 with LAN cable and search for node. Good luck!

    GT-AX6000+RT-AC68U=no aimesh

I have the same configuration in Aimesh mode and it works great! On the AX6000 I have Merlin installed and on the AC68U latest factory firmware + ETH backhaul. There is no need for Merlin on Aimesh nodes anyway and I never had any problems with adding the nodes with factory firmwares...

Observations on switching from RT-AC86U to GT-AX6000

I've made exactly the same upgrade from AC86U to GT-AX6000 in november last year. I agree with all of your 8 findings except with nr. 2; I get A LOT better N signal coverage with GT-AX6000 than with AC86U. Bottom line, the router IS great.

Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.51255

@Tech9 Boy, are we in the bad mood today/this week/whole year. I personaly had the chance to switch my whole mesh network with another brand however i did not. Why? Asus routers simply do everything right for me + support is really good. Try Netgear or Belkin and count official FW updates from...

    Asus GT-AC2900 maximize speed

There could be a few reasons, but generally 920 mbps already is a real world gigabit speed... Login ito your router and check WAN MTU size at the bottom. Is it 1500? Check via "cmd" prompt in windows your correct WAN MTU size. Follow this guide, it might help...

    Router update questions

Agree on technical part of updating but not regarding firmware selection. If you guys plan to sell your routers always flash latest factory firmware and reset it. You never know who will buy the thing and not everybody is a technical freak like all of us here. Let them (new buyers, that is...)...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 is now available for all supported Wifi 6 models

Sorry for the off-topic question; cannot find "Format JFFS Partition on next Boot" option on my GT-AX6000 with 388.1... Any ideas? And also, what would be the command in Putty for the same option in GUI? Thanks in advance!

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.49703 (07-20-2022)

Knowing you have one, I am really curious aboat its HW; is it really more or less "just" an AC86U HW in a different case?

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

I think, it is not aboat "want" but more aboat " still have". The router was very popular in its glory days; this means there is still a huge number of people that are using it. The router is still great for (above) average use of WIFI, coverage is good, HW is enough for 500 mbps (or even more)...

    RT-AC86U best merlin firmware

The latest firmware installed on my AC86U (before I sold it a month ago...) with 2 50mm fans was latest 386.7_2. CPU temperature was around 54C, 2.4 GHZ radio was disabled, 5 GHz radio temp was around 46C.
