[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Is fixed now John, I had user and group nobody by accident in my custom openvpn config which was breaking the execution of the updown script. I will remove my amendments now from firewall-start as they wont be needed now the DNS block rules are correctly removed on vpn shutdown. For my VPN I...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I just had a thought what might be the problem. I remember some versions back john added a feature to prevent ipv6 dns leakage when using VPN, those rules may have been created then. Also notice I got duplicates of the rules, so I now have an idea whats going on, because whenever I shutdown my...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

sure, the DNS block rules I did not add. The only rules i added in this list was the 133-136 icmp types and the fe80::/10 allow rule, the rest is automatically generated on my router. Before I added the fe80::/10 rule none of my lan devices were able to connect to dns hosted on the router as...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

yeah for me was not working on the lan. I initially noticed with dns lookups timing out on my FreeBSD box. I had to add that iptables rule to get ipv6 local link requests to the router working. Regarding the icmp types maybe its ok to just have those not forwarded. To anyone here using the...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

John apologies if this is just my router affected, but I noticed that there is no fe80:: ipv6 allow rule in the firewall so basically link local traffic gets blocked on the lan to the router. Also I think icmp6 types 133 to 136 should be added to the ipv6 forward table allow rules. Here is...

think I found the real reason for regulators gimping wireless

Seems mobile networks want to use 5ghz which clearly conflicts with wifi. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/08/22/lte_u_5g_disputes_wireless_watch/

John got some feedback from a sky customer who switched to your firmware from shibby, on sky uk isp and using the ac68. He said it all is working so far with ipv6. I dont know if he is using 19E1 or 19E2. :)

    IPV6 DUID

There is also a 2nd issue where for no apparent reason occasionally sky's dhcp will take between 20 and 40 min to send the prefix. Seems to happen about 10% of the time. Not a asuswrt issue that one as people on other devices have reported it also.

    IPV6 DUID

great shonk, a guy on kitz forums wants it for the ac87 I think. Seems I am the only sky user on an ac68 tho :p

shonk nice, how do you compile asuswrt? I have linux knowledge, but not with compiling embedded systems.

    Resize partition swap for entware

I never knew it even created a swap partition, but you can simply add a swap file or new swap partition. Swap file is probably the way to go. Assuming you want to grow the swap rather than shrink it.

    IPV6 DUID

heh you a fellow sky customer? I have the same issues.

Disagree, I hate devices that have no power button, it feels cheap that the method used to power off is to yank the power cord.

    Overclocking AC68U? Lost Cause?

ok, didnt know sorry, as I am using john's fork I was not aware. :(

    Overclocking AC68U? Lost Cause?

this is the first time I have heard of having to use scripts, on my ac68 its just a one off nvram command which sticks on reboot. The increased temperature as well as higher performance numbers are the two giveaways that it is actually working. I forgot the relevant nvram command now tho as I...

[Asus RT-AC66U] - QOS - Download speeds throttled by upload bandwidth setting

Guys obviously you need to make sure your upload speed limits are large enough to handle your ack packets. e.g. one cannot have a 100kbit upload limit on 100mbit download speeds.
