Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Thank you LimJK for your quick reply. :) So I think I need to go over an unmanaged switch. However I have multicast for IP-TV and therefore I enabled IGMP snooping. The other settings are on default e.g. disabled. I still hope there is a config possible that the port where the AiMesh node is...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Hi LimJK I see while having the Backhaul set to Auto nodes are preferred connected over WiFi,. Only when the wireless connection becomes weak, the Backhaul switches to Ethernet. Did you check that the node over the switch has Wired as Connection type? While have the node as wired connected...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Regarding RC-4. I didn't thest it with nodes directly connected at the Router. But Guest didn't get an IP as well on Ethernet Backhaul over the switch. Having them connected using WiFi Backhaul it worked as expected.

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Hi OE I rebooted everything without success. While I'm bypassing the switch on the running system, clients on the Guest Network over that node get an IP Address. After plugging the node back over the Switch, Guest clients don't get an IP, where normal clients can connect without any problem.

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Guest Network gets no IP while Ethernet Backhaul goes over a switch Both nodes running on RC-5 configured as Ethernet first (Router on RC-4 since RC-5 is not yet released for AC5300) On node is directly connected on a LAN Port of the router, while the other node goes over Netgear GS108tv2...

Can't add RT-AC68U as AiMesh node

Be aware while adding a new node the connection from the router to the node is established over WLAN first. After the node is connected, you can set within the node under "more config" to Ethernet first. So while setting up an AiMesh environment put the nodes near the router that a wireless...

How to extract *.u Firmware under Windows

Hi OE Thanks for your reply. But I want to extract the .u firmware file itself as I can for .trx files with 7Zip in this example Using 7Zip under Windows no problem, but I'm searching for a tool that allows me to achieve the same for .u firmware files

How to extract *.u Firmware under Windows

The older *.trx Firmware format could be easily extracted using 7Zip. Firmware for e.g. ASUS RT-AC86U or RT-AX92U uses a new format with a ".u" extension. Does anybody now how to extract this firmware type under windows. Thanks in advance for your help

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Hi OE I made a trial with router and all nodes under FW 9.0.0.4_386_39485. Se I removed all AiMesh nodes after that I enabled "System Ethernet backhaul mode" and a put nodes on firmware default. After that procedure I added again the AiMesh nodes. Both of them came up with a wifi connection...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Hi KingBravery I just did it as you explained. Ethernet first is actually my preferred setting, but misleads in a weak upstream behavior on the AC86U node and no IP over nodes for guest network. Therefore I use Auto and this setting remains always on WiFi as far as the router has a WiFi signal...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Hi drabisan Thank you for your reply. I took Ethernet backhaul when I configured my AiMesh configuration at the first time. But I found two problems while unsing Ethernet as backhaul: Weak upstream on the node with the RT-AC86U with FW 386_39485 Clients on Guest network don't get an IP address...

Thank you for the fast reply The speed measured with the CPE (Swisscom Internetbox2 / DMZ for Router AC5300): downstream 117 Mbits upstream 38 Mbits The subscription is actually 200 dn / 100 up but I'm still on copper with VDSL2, hopefully Swisscom invents G.Fast in the next time, that I can...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Hi OzarkEdge Do I understand correctly. do you mean "iMesh 2.0 guest WLANs (VLANs) are not yet usable" with Ethernet backhaul? Since if after setting the backhaul to "Auto" the nodes are establishing the connection WLAN and then everthing works flawlessly with guest WLANs.
