    Auto Firmware Upgrade made official - a new Note in Asus FAQ

    There is a bigger problem, here. Sometimes there is a specific reason that a user is avoiding an update. Maybe there's some application that is broken by the newer version. It could be any number of legitimate things. Just because an update hasn't taken place isn't sufficient evidence of...

    386.5_2 --> 388.2

    Why does the snbforum software replace that inline image link with some kind of proxy that doesn't work? The image link works fine, but the image appears broken in my browser when I view this thread. When I edit the post the image shows up in the composer just fine.

    FlexQoS kernel: ERR[create_app_ses_leaf:3155] Failed to allocate htb class!

    The output of the second command is 844 lines. Is that to be expected?

    FlexQoS kernel: ERR[create_app_ses_leaf:3155] Failed to allocate htb class!

    I don't think this error is due to network activity. I've been running FlexQoS for years and never seen this issue. It appears in the logs again immediately after restarting QoS, even in the middle of the night when no one's on except me. Like I was saying, it's probably not a big deal since it...

    386.5_2 --> 388.2

    Mostly out of laziness I haven't updated my RT-AX86U for a while. I just wanted to check if there are any known issues before I try a dirty upgrade.

    "Best" new router that supports Merlin?

    I didn't see anyone answer this. You can have unlimited static DHCP assignments by putting them in the /jffs/configs/dnsmasq.conf.add file. One line for each client. dhcp-host=DE:AD:BE:EF:CA:FE,[Client name],192.168.1.2,12h This, of course, does not change the icon given to clients in the...

    Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 388.1 Beta is available for select models

    The AX86U has noticeably less range than the quad antenna AC88U it replaced, so I presume the AX88U as well. Range might be less of an issue if you're running a mesh setup, of course. Just another thing to consider.

    Peculiar LAN name resolution issue

    I have no scripts installed that are related to DNS at all at this point. The only DNS settings that are different from default is changing the "DNS Privacy Protocol" from "None" to DoT.

    No. On the Linux machine there's nothing. The Windows machine just has the default "Windows Security."

    Peculiar LAN name resolution issue

    No. Those issues are unrelated. The problem resolving the sce.com domain was related to the specific DNS server I was using. The intermittent DNS failures happen when using stubby or dnscrypt regardless of how many resets I do. It's not Windows, specific. Reboot doesn't fix it. All devices on...
