    DDNS will have trouble determining internet IP in double-NAT situation, ASUSWRT will tell you so when you try enabling DDNS. I think ASUSWRT Merlin has an option to detect external IP in this situation but you'll have to try it out :)

    Try Iperf3. It's little bit more technical to use (CLI) but might be more precise in measuring true speed of your internet connection - especially when you can find a server close by.

    How do you enable media bridge AND router/AP mode at the same time? AFAIK they are mutually exclusive, the router can be in one of those modes but not two of them at the same time.

    Usually with their own SSL sertificates and basically MITM to inspect HTTPS traffic. Some governments use that to police their population activity on the internet. Plenty of companies use that to control access to their networks.

    try DDNS on the modem, return it to the regular mode and using AX88 as an access point. If it works, something is screwy with your setup. If not, it's a problem on ISP side. Alternatively, try a different DDNS service or an intermediary like dnsomatic.

    With my AX55, I get over 600mbit throughput in Iperf3 in close proximity (i.e. around 2-3 feet between router and AC client) at 5ghz 866.7mbit link speed.     I don't think even Asus RT-AX55 would have poorly built firmware ;) Asus appears to be pretty good updating firmware regularly even for very old routers like N66. BTW, AX55 supports AX on both bands ;)

    If John compiled firmware for n66, why not? I'm actually considering using my n66 for media bridge but I guess I should wait until the bug is ironed out

    @thiggins Like I already said, I did just that with AC. So much so, AX is now out, and official, while all of my AC clients were stuck at N speed for years. Don't see the point of going through the exercise all over again with AX, by the time it matures, Wifi 7 will be here. Not everyone buys...

    I was in the same situation and personally, I don't see any benefit in getting an AC router, esp. if AX equivalent costs the same. AX routers will be able to do everything AC one can, and then some. Sure, it was a draft standard but it has become official weeks ago as it's been quite a while...

    Just to be clear, did you read the instructions for hard reset in the link for your specific router and follow them? If you really did that and nothing's changed, then next you should try finding a replacement power brick, from the same router model if possible.
