Microsoft Teams / Zoom / Google Meet - periodic sound loss during the call/meeting - AX86u with Merlin 386.1

Canada, and yes it could be ISP problem, since there was no change on my side

Microsoft Teams / Zoom / Google Meet - periodic sound loss during the call/meeting - AX86u with Merlin 386.1

I am absolutely still having this issue and it is very annoying, as those are work meetings/calls. So I simply turn off wifi on my phone and use data for my Teams calls. But why I should be doing while I have 1Gbps internet?

Microsoft Teams / Zoom / Google Meet - periodic sound loss during the call/meeting - AX86u with Merlin 386.1

Interesting thing on my side that NO router setting change after I rolled back to Merlin 386.1 (from 1_2). And I never had this issue before. And in all cases, devices are close to the router and have very strong signal... 5GHz. Already power cycled the modem/routers, no improvement

Microsoft Teams / Zoom / Google Meet - periodic sound loss during the call/meeting - AX86u with Merlin 386.1

Additional details: - this only seem to impact only audio, no impact on presentation (I see the presenter moving cursor on his screen) - interestingly, audio loss is NOT on all devices simultaneosly - for example, my meeting is statteing and I hear my kid's class uninterrupted

Microsoft Teams / Zoom / Google Meet - periodic sound loss during the call/meeting - AX86u with Merlin 386.1

Folks, Recently I started experiencing problems with Teams over wifi; basically during the conference call, I stop hearing the other party for few seconds, and then it resumes. And then it keeps repeating every few minutes (!), and with no visible drop of wifi connection Anyone else having such...

An Observation- 386 Code, AX86U, and WiFi Failure

Folks, I have been observing this discussion and IMHO the current argument is not very productive. L&LD is sharing what works for him, and of course there is a difference between workaround (such as full reset/erase/etc.) and rootcausing/debugging and properly fixing the issue. Sometimes the...

Performance of dual AX86U in AiMesh, on Merlin 386.1

361.1_2 definitely will not perform any faster...unfortunately. On my side, AX200 Ryzen7 laptops shows wifi properties at 2402/2402Mbps, but gigabit internet shows only 500-560Mbps (LAN: 980-1000Mbps) and network map shows 300/240 (?!)

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Upgraded my both AX86u from Merlin 386.1 -> 386.1_2 No issues during upgrade of the main router and the node Full power down after FW upgrade, but no reset. Issue #1: Network map does not show correct speeds for wifi clients that are connecting wifi6 speeds; I have 2 Lenovo laptops with Intel...

Solved Root Cause for 100 mbps

Well, I do want to clarify: not trying to advertise a specific cable, more of making fun of myself:) On a serious side - I got cables of various lenghts, so I do not need to splice anything. All cables seem consistent quality, arrived well packaged, and vast majority of reviews are positive. and...

Solved Root Cause for 100 mbps

ASIDE: becoming somewhat paranoidal regarding RFI, I just upgraded almost all my Ethernet cables (except the most important on - connecting main router with the node (:)) with new CAT8(!) cables: https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07QNWH9VK/?tag=smallncom-20 . Seems like latencies and speeds slightly...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

I do not have a problem with Node, It seems to work fine - I just want to check few things... if possible

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Folks... forgive me dumb question - is there any way to login to the node router? I was able to upgrade my node FW to 386.1, and I did have to login at that point, but I have no access to the node. When I do 192.168.xx.116 (the actual node IP address), I do get login page. I enter my user...

Genuine question - Why is the recommended ‘reset to factory settings’ so complicated?

Absolutely confirmed. One of my Apple devices would not connect to my reflashed AX86u with SSID I was using for the last 15 years, and it connected to the same AP as soon as introduced a new SSID. Since then I learned my lesson and after recent "nuke and pave" FW update on my routers, I created...

    Merlin 386.1 Beta 4 - AiMesh 2x AX86U, Node constantly disconnecting clients

I am also using my iPhone X for voice part of the calls as my airpods are linked to the iPhone, and it is sooo much clearer to do conference calls, etc, so I totally understand Andrew. Even though I only roam within my tiny home office room, I do occasionally get disconnected/reconnected on the...

Genuine question - Why is the recommended ‘reset to factory settings’ so complicated?

From work experience the most reliable way to flash firmware and reset all the settings is to use Dediprog; that is a bulletproof method and it provides consistent results. Unfortunately, this is not feasible here for many reasons, and may not be even suitable for ASUS routers. But for sure...

    Merlin 386.1 Beta 4 - AiMesh 2x AX86U, Node constantly disconnecting clients

One possible workaround is to use 2.4GHz band (not sure what you are using now). You might be able to retain slower but more stable connection... P.S. While Beta5 definitely brought improvements to AIMesh, I still think it has a long way to go...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

Folks I noticed something unusual about Beta5: Internet speed on wireless clients seem to be significantly lower (than the wired ones) So on wired ones and the router itself I do get 930-1000 Mbps out of gigabit internet (when family is not active), so that one is perfect. On a wireless AX...
