    Interesting link about RT-AC87U

On the same forum I am trying to convince JJ that ASUS needs to make massive improvements... BCM4709 is not good enough for uber expensive router in 2015... it was great for 2013, but not for 2015... The only hope we have is that the massive overhaul of ASUS WRT will bring massive performance...

    Interesting link about RT-AC87U

Folks, just FYI: http://pcdiy.asus.com/2014/01/rt-ac87u-the-ultimate-router-4x4-mu-mimo-ces-2014/ Looks like they are still working on it and it is not close to shipping unfortunately, BUT there is something interesting: (posted by JJ who seems to be ASUS rep) "Any...

    Overclocking RT-AC56U

Words of wisdom - as always :) Yes I have been warned... and yes, I fully understand that I bork my router, it is my and only my fault... that is why on the very first page I put so many warnings in bold... :) However, given the fact that I witness the dead to arise (I am still talking about...

    Overclocking RT-AC56U

UPDATE: Of course I got jealous of your 1400Mhz and tried to push mine to that... bricked the router - AGAIN... as if I did not know that with overclocking of anything, each ASIC/CPU has it's limit - and no matter what you do, you cannot go beyond it... The router did not react to reset or...

    Overclocking RT-AC56U

Holy smokes - 1400!!! POWER :) 2 fans are overkill - unless you are running them off low voltage make them completely silent. (Man I got do some work from home tonight - tempted to try 1400 - I know my specimen does not boot beyond 1200 - still tempted... LOL)

    Overclocking RT-AC56U

Not sure... maybe ASUS changed the type of memory they use? or locked it in the bootloader? when you check the clocks, what memory speed do you get? (there is a command - getclocks or something like that)

    AC56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561

LAN wired transfer rates Guys, is it just me or wired LAN transfers are slow with the latest firmware updates from ASUS? ALL my internal network copy speeds are much slower... only after I enabled 4Mb jumbo frames, I was able to touch 50Mb/s... with Merlin I recall on the same networks, same...

    RT-AC68U - CPU@1600 MHz

Cool!!! :) Any proof with BogoMIPS that the clocks are actually real (i.e. performance difference between stock clocks and 1600MHz)?

    PPPoE problems with .374.39.0

Update: after some back and worth with ISP, they did something (not sure what) on thier side, and for last 27 hrs I see not a single disconnect! However, there are few things I would like to clarify on router side. Merlin, did I get it right that the router will only try to dial in 10 times...

    Overclocking RT-AC56U

    Overclocking RT-AC56U

OBITUARY. Rest in peace, o brave little black router. You died like hero exploring a new Everest of overclocking of routers. You will be missed. My AC56 - just like Merlin warned about Fukusima - is not booting anymore. Only power LED comes on; attempts to get into recovery mode by holding...

    Overclocking RT-AC56U

My stats: BogoMIPS : 1595.80 (800;533) BogoMIPS : 2398.61 (1200;800) At the attempt to set 1600;800, my router went to coma and so far I am not able to bring it back (swapped with my old trusty N56U temporarily)

    PPPoE problems with .374.39.0

UPDATE: - with the new login, the connection is much more stable. When I came home the internet was still up - however, the router log reveals a lot of disconnections. I am attaching log file - appreciate feedback QUESTIONS: - are these dropped connections "normal"? I understand that it is...
