IPv6 and NextDNS Configuration Assistance Request

Thanks for confirming that it works on the same model. Does your ISP use CGNAT by chance? It's the only other factor I can think of however I don't see why it would make a difference. After uninstalling the CLI client all tests have returned to pass and IPv6.

    Need help configuring NextDNS

Thanks I tried that and my NextDNS log then shows it all going via IPv4 DNS, not IPv6. Maybe it's something on my side then.

    Need help configuring NextDNS

Does the NextDNS CLI support IPv6? Last time I ran it I only saw IPv4 hits in the NextDNS dashboard. I'll try again maybe some of the settings were off. Edit -- nope - tried installing it again and it falls back to IPv4 NextDNS. I ran "nextdns uninstall" and it falls back IPv6 DNS.

IPv6 and NextDNS Configuration Assistance Request

Thanks and good point, I will start saving up and assume I can use the existing router as a Mesh node after I upgrade to a newer Asus model.

IPv6 and NextDNS Configuration Assistance Request

Thanks and I will look in to it. However I thought a firewall would be even more important with IPv6 as potentially everything is directly addressable.

IPv6 and NextDNS Configuration Assistance Request

They are not all assigned though. So with *assigned* range IPv6 firewalls should be manageable? Or what is the risk with IPv6 no longer requiring NAT and potentially every home device being directly addressable. IPv4 is from 1981. IPv6 is about more than just address space. Time to just let it...

IPv6 and NextDNS Configuration Assistance Request

Thanks for the clarification. I checked my Firewall page and there was an option disabled to "Enable IPv6 Firewall", I have now enabled this. Agreed. However as per above I noticed that there was an IPv6 option disabled, now enabled. Is there a way to check the logs for this? Disappointing...

IPv6 and NextDNS Configuration Assistance Request

Oh.... Should I be concerned then or do I need to install a IPv6 firewall? I understand IPv6 no longer uses NAT so is more exposed?

Thanks however these files are actually listed as directories, with nothing in them, odd.

IPv6 and NextDNS Configuration Assistance Request

Just discovered this amazing tool and subscribed, loving it! I have recently moved to a new ISP that supports "native" IPv6. I am using a Asus RT-AC86u with Merlin, and Cloudflare DNS as default resolver, with NextDNS set up as TLS resolver with IPv6 and TLS address - although the command line...

amtm AMTM Stuck in Screen Loop

amtm AMTM Stuck in Screen Loop

Just installed a bunch of scripts on my RT-AC86U and AMTM is now stuck in a loop when opening it, refreshing here.. perhaps if I can uninstall the fw update notification script if that's causing any issues but I don't know how? amtm 4.1 FW by thelonelycoder RT-AC86U (aarch64)...

    ! Entware: bin.entware.net unreachable [SOLVED]

I just had the most weird experience - I have been unable to update entware via amtm for a few months - came across this thread and rang some ping tests - then magically it started working. I wonder if running ping somehow opens something. Odd (Asus RT-AC86U Merlin). What SLA do you suggest...

    amtm USB drives failing

Which is exactly what happened to me. Those Toshiba supermarket cheapies are now in the bin and replaced with 12 year old 8GB Corsair stick and it's now fine. So I will need to get a newer better stick soon - any recommendations for brand and can I copy from old to new stick?

    amtm USB drives failing

Interesting, well that's a relief that it's not my router anyway. I'll try the guide posted above.

    amtm USB drives failing

Wow I notice ColinTaylor in the author list lol... yep it takes care of everything. Did a fd but it's complaining that it's mounted read-only and can't format it.... I'll keep trying... I just hope there isn't something wrong with my router :-( But I'm working remotely so I'll try the full...

    amtm USB drives failing

Excellent I will do that. I am currently remote (using VPN). I suppose JFFS will kill VPN so would have to wait until I get home then, and then format and reboot three times like you suggest, insert the USB and format to NTFS (so EXT3 / EXT4 is out?). And I will follow the guide.

    https://pastebin.com/5pjm4vnb It's a burn-on-read, I'll PM you a full log link if that doesn't work

    amtm USB drives failing

Just used for external storage for scripts and traffic monitoring.. for the router OS, no media. Both 16GB but it's just standard commodity drives. Should I try a better brand like Sandisk or something..... The logs posted above hint that it may be trying to mount as EXT4 when it's formatted as...

    amtm USB drives failing

My USB drive is driving me nuts, it keeps mounting in read-only mode. I have rebooted, replaced it, swapped ports and tried three different file systems (EXT4 formatted externally, and NTFS / FAT formatted on the router). It insists on remaining unmounted / read only. No idea. It's broken all...
