[HELP] Transmit power restriction for RT-N66U

I am currently running firmware: 374.43_28E2j9527 3.0.0.4.374.43_28E2j9527 When I run the commands, they stick after reboots and display in the GUI. That would mean my router is operating at that output and it is more stable, at further distances, with better speeds than at the 200mW option...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I'm still reading the change log. I forgot how the drivers went so as long as I see a date as close as today as possible then it's an update for me. I haven't updated my firmware in over a year and a half. Why is 200mW the max? If the firmware used to support the 500mW option, why is it now...

    $9 Router Cooling (RT-AC68U Example)

#SocialMediaHype Yeah it's all good. I just wanted to put all the information in once place and simply explain the differences between all the ideas, opinions and methods, while delivering it with the most technical approach. I'll simply respond to anything with direct links to information or...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

It just mentions that his project DOES include Security information. Here is the latest changelog from August 27th, 2018: https://github.com/john9527/asuswrt-merlin/blob/374.43_2-update/Changelog.txt

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

This is the firmware that allows 500mW on the US region, correct? Does this include the fix for the 2017 WPA2 hack on its latest revision form August 2018? I like RMerlin's firmware cause it's a modification of the stock firmware with extra goodies, but he has stated multiple times that he is...

    $9 Router Cooling (RT-AC68U Example)

As a summary on the drama in this thread: Some users want to see low tempatures on their routers. These users just simply don't understand how temperature effects these specific types of chips. Just because the chips are called CPU's doesn't mean inside a router is similar to a computer CPU...

[HELP] Transmit power restriction for RT-N66U

So we definitely need different attennas in order to actually transmit at 500mW otherwise we are just creating noise? I found that choosing the proper wifi channels and bands actually allowed me to gain higher output signals, which increased my coverage.

[HELP] Transmit power restriction for RT-N66U

The problem is kind of like the Password Policy thing: Instead of FORCING limits or requirements, DO NOT limit your service AND JUST IMMENSELY warn users. I'd rather see a FULL PAGE POPUP that says: WARNING WARNING WARNING: THE PASSWORD YOU CHOSE IS SO WEAK IT CAN BE GUESSED IN SECONDS!!! IF...

[HELP] Transmit power restriction for RT-N66U

3.0.0.4.374.34_2 Definitely does NOT say Transmission Power in %, it says Transmission Rate and displays a 2-3 digit number that the GUI says is limited to 200, but with the region changes, can show up to 500. When changing that GUI box, it only apply a the wan command, not wan0 and wan1 so I...

[HELP] Transmit power restriction for RT-N66U

I used these commands: nvram set wl_TxPower=160 nvram set wl0_TxPower=160 nvram set wl1_TxPower=160 nvram commit Worked for me. GUI shows the changes, reboots keep the changes, and I absolutely got a signal boost. When I go higher, it's like the wifi just does, that's why I wanna try higher...

[HELP] Transmit power restriction for RT-N66U

Did anyone find compatible antennas that would allow higher transmission? For whatever reason, 200 mW or even 500 mW don't work for my router. I'm currently running the latest latest version of MerlinWRT and my Tx rate is at 160 mW. I DEFINITELY absolutely 100% got a boost. My wifie and I have...
