Looking for feedback: Anyone considering AiCloud important to them?

I actually like the idea of a warning the minute you enable the option. I used it years ago when I first got on with Asus but was simply useless to me and moved on to Nextcloud as a much better option.

WARNING - router is in manufacturing mode, and can behave unexpectedly (did you mess with your bootloader?)

When in doubt factory reset. That's always the way to go and get to a base level.

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

Dude you just made my day!! I was seriously ROFL as your description is exactly what I go through with my own 82 year old mom!!! It’s truly painful when her router acts up 😆

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

I think I might have finally solved this issue but we'll see...it's been over 30 days and still good connecting to my canon printer. I got so frustrated with the whole process that I lost track of the changes I was making on the 2.4 and 5GHZ professional settings. Anyway here are my settings and...

2.4ghz and 5ghz clients cant communicate with each other

Damn this was driving me crazy today until I found this thread. My wife prints from her android phone once in awhile and couldn’t see the printer on the 2.4…my iPhone same thing. Tried a ping utility from the iPhone and no response. Never noticed since we have our systems mostly hard-wired and...

    Gigabit PPPoE on Merlin

Well I’m using bell on a 1.5/1 like you and my old ac-68u overclocked to 1.2 had no issues doing those speeds. Moved to an ax86u pro and she runs smooth as butter on the bell Fibe network. Better throughput overall when using VPN which is what I wanted.

cipher is not set. OpenVPN versions before 2.5 defaulted to BF-CBC as fallback

I've just noticed this message showing up in my OpenVPN log "Treating option '--ncp-ciphers' as '--data-ciphers' (renamed in OpenVPN 2.5)" and "--cipher is not set. OpenVPN versions before 2.5 defaulted to BF-CBC as fallback" I looked around but I didn't see anything that could tell me why the...

OpenVPN configuration not compatible with OpenVPN Connect 3.4.0

I can’t see where to choose 2048 bit RSA in the renew section. I hit the drop down where general is located to choose advanced and nothing there either. Perhaps my old eyes are missing something. Thanks very much.

    Entware Transmission stopped working

I had the same issue as I had weeks ago when I upgraded to the latest transmission via amtm ep option. The daemon would not start except now I was getting the error transmission-daemon -g /opt/etc/transmission -f ERR transmission-daemon Error loading config file -- exiting. daemon.cc:914 I...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

I upgraded my AC68U to an AX recently but gave it my senior parents and they love it. The 68U gives them way better range than their Bell modem and they love the idea of the OpenVPN server on the router for travel purposes (let's Dad connect to his gambling pony sites in Canada without regional...

    rt-ac68u firmware 386.11 overclocking

I agree 100% if you don't mitigate the heat BUT up until recently, when I finally upgraded, I had my 68U running at 1.2/666 for over 6 years and never a hiccup with anything including OpenVPN. Secret to this which has gotten some heated discussions on this forum is having a fan blowing across...

    Asus RT-AX88U Pro

As a Canadian I watched the Best Buy US site for sales on Asus routers. They're always on sale generally and they'll give you a recycling 15% off on any new router device on sale or not...just bring along any old junk network device you don't want anymore as a recycling unit for the 15% off...

Entware How does Entware Start on AX86U Pro

I'm trying to figure out how entware and transmission starts on my AX86U Pro. I installed entware through AMTM and transmission using the opkg command and everything seems to be fine including the swap file which is available after a reboot. On my old AC68U there was a script in jffs called...

Feature Request for ASUS FTP Server Port Selections

Yup I saw that too but ignored the part about both and used TCP only. I found with ASUS How-To's you have to wade through the weeds to use the right information. :)

Feature Request for ASUS FTP Server Port Selections

Thank you Colin. I ended up using this FTP howto guide below from ASUS and I have everything working as expected. I left the PASV port as is in NVRAM as it didn't conflict with anything I configured. Cheers https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1037908

Feature Request for ASUS FTP Server Port Selections

Hello Merlin, I'm trying to setup the FTP server on the AX86U Pro Router and noticed that you can't select a different Port or Base FTP PASV port. When using John's Fork on my old AC68U this was an option he had placed into the GUI to get around port conflicts on other internal FTP servers one...
