    Mesh comparability AXE16000 & AC5300

I have the same setup. I reset both with the electric reset method after installing the latest Merlin for both. I started the 16000, and after it was running, then did the mesh. I followed the UM and advice here. It was a truly easy operation...

Anyone seen the thread on 388.7 alpha?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Thanks, Eric. In that message, I was aiming not to highlight MACSEC so much as to provide a marker as the router developed and changed, then went into a hole that ultimately resulted in WAN connectivity glitching. Right now, I remain clueless in GA...;-)

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Tried it, but it didn't seem to make a whole lot of difference. Easy to use going forward... So, thanks for the nudge! One thing, the code box feature dropped character formatting. I was attempting to use that to highlight changes...not a MACSEC problem??

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Here is the rest of the info 22 hours after a reboot. My internet connection shows solid in the cable modem, but the primary router is not maintaining internet access for clients (wired or wifi). Following are the logs. Any help would be greatly appreciated... After reboot get the usual...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

So, I've encountered a couple of things, only 1 of which may be significant. --My WAN was solid up when looking at the modem--it never glitched. After 9 days up on the router, WAN was intermittent this morning to the clients with some weird recurring log stuff (16000 primary router). This was...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Thanks! None of it seems to be affecting overall performance, though... I'm think I'll kind of wait and see if any issues surface.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

This has been great software for the new 16000! Only issue is the log having a great number of these entries: Mar 8 06:24:23 kernel: wfd_unregisterdevice Successfully unregistered ifidx 1 wfd_idx 1 Mar 8 06:24:27 kernel: wfd_registerdevice Successfully registered dev wds1.0.1 ifidx 1 wfd_idx...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12_6 is now available for AC models

So, Great comment! I did the power reset on both routers with the latest Merlin FW. Set up airmesh after a manual config of everything on the primary router. It worked like a charm! I will say that many clients didn't like the change over, and had to be addressed individually (Things like...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12_6 is now available for AC models

Thank you, sir!! That is good news, especially since the 5300 is EOL at ASUS.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12_6 is now available for AC models

Thanks for the quick update, Colin! I'd still like to hear the forum wisdom on this part of the questions: "Oh, one other thing: will the AC-5300 need to be reverted to factory FW to work as the airmesh node? This Merlin update is really running smoothly with the 5300 in the primary router...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12_6 is now available for AC models

Well, the time has come. I'm moving my trusty AC-5300 to a secondary role as a meshed node. I'm putting my new AXE-16000 in as the primary router, and have great expectations for this box. My AC-3200 will be removed in its role as a media bridge/access point, and it will finally be retired...

    RT-BE96U Tri-Band

So, the key question is still, will Merlin support this machine? If not, that would be a deal breaker for me! Merlin's software is simply that much better that all the alternatives...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

So, put in the 2nd update with TrendMicro off. Clean logs and smooth ops. I've just turned on the TM engine and am waiting to see... After 15 minutes, here are the only new log entries: Nov 8 12:57:55 kernel: *** ERROR: [tdts_shell_ioctl_sig_op_load:95] tdts_core_rule_parsing_trf_load()...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Would rolling back to the previous firmware solve this without totally shutting down Trend Micro? If the withdrawal process is used, how much bother to turn it back on? Seems that the router is open to the 'land of bad things' without the Aiprotect services??
