Limiting incoming VPN client to the single local address bidirectionally

Windows 7. TeamViewer would not allow me remote printing. It is usable, but they would have to print PDF localy within VM and move PDF over to them. Likely, too complicated for medicinal stuff.

Limiting incoming VPN client to the single local address bidirectionally

I need to let someone connect to my LAN, using OpenVPN and connect them to Virtual machine at 192.168.1.5:5555. This VPN connection must be bidirectionall as my local Virtual machine must print at their remote printer. They must be strictly limited to be able to access only that VM and nothing...

Another tiny bug with WAN IP address rotation

My ISP rotates address on a 1-2-3 day basis. It is a Public IP address because this is dedicated 3g data line (not data + voice). For comparison: on my mobile phone, I get private IP address, and that is OK since that line is voice+data. But, as I said, I can not be certain, I will check with...

Another tiny bug with WAN IP address rotation

Yuo, bug shows itself again. But, if I do not look, I wil not norice. Again: I have Single NAT modem, how is 10.92.213.255 as WAN IP claim possible? It should not be. A bug. Oct 24 02:28:45 WAN Connection: WAN was restored. Oct 24 02:28:45 start_nat_rules: apply the...

Another tiny bug with WAN IP address rotation

Apparantly, my router gets confused from time to time, and does not see the Singe NAT USB modem Public WAN IP address after it is rotated by my ISP. Sometimes it gets much worse, as evident in my other posts. Asuswrt-Merlin RT-AC56U_380.59_0 But, this might affect others as the problem may not...

Entering data for "SSH Authentication key" kills router..

Found this thread while activating ssh on my router. Avoiding GUI, I have no problem with SSH and number of keys. Works perfectly for both in and out. I explained every step and my reasons for doing it that way: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/dropbear-ssh-without-remote-password.21070/

    Dropbear/ssh without remote password

I needed ssh to and from the Asus with Merlin fw router for different uses. This post is the best info on the subject I could find. Original post works but has 2 problems. 1) dropbear never generates id_rsa.pub file, hence, never saves it anywhere. 2) whatever ssh authorisations were done, to...

Can a router use USB modem connected to Raspberry?

Same problems exist with another USB modem which is 4G Double NAT (this one is 3G single NAT). Speed is not an issue, 10 mbps is too much. Thing with a Raspberry seems a bit complex :) But, I just got another idea about killing the power to the USB modem :) So, I will do that thing to reset the...

Outgoing routing fails after WAN IP address rotates

Easy way to reproduce an error is to just pull the USB modem out and put it back in. Modem will redial. Sometimes, I can do it several times in a row with no ill results. Just now, all it took was to pull it out once and return it. No routing to the Internet by my router, but the Interet works...

Can a router use USB modem connected to Raspberry?

I have problems with Asus Meriln routing on ocassions. Got no help in resolving issues. So, my only possibility is to restart a USB modem to make it reconnect. Got no help with that, too. Restarting entire router is not a nice solution in some situations. But, currently it is my only option. I...

Router does not redial when connection dies?!?

USB modem should redial automatically. But, for the last 50 years, we did our own dialing using atd commands, so here it still must be true. My problem is: if a modem just receives new IP address, router stops routing all other network devices through it. So, I am looking for a way around this...

How to reset USB port or USB modem?

Why the commands: > sh -c 'echo 2-2 > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb/unbind' > sh -c 'echo 2-2 > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb/bind' do not turn USB modem off and back on?

Outgoing routing fails after WAN IP address rotates

So, nobody is finding any interest regarding this apparant Bug? I must say there are so many problems with Asus routers that it is getting tiresome trying to naviage aroudn them all.

Router does not redial when connection dies?!?

Amazing. So, everyone considers it normal that the router does not redial after a connection breaks. Most interesting.

Router does not redial when connection dies?!?

I thought there are no stupid questions, but here is one: If my router notices my modem has dropped connection, why does not router dial again? I have USB 3G modem. If a connection is lost, router does not care and it is up to me to redial. The only way I know how is to reboot the router...

How to reset USB port or USB modem?

How to reset USB port or USB modem?

What I meant, I do not need someone to walk me throught every step. I just need to know which command I need to dial the USB modem from a script. But, judging from many replies, I can only use Raspberry to kill the power in the modem USB cable :(

How to reset USB port or USB modem?

OK, true. I can kill my active USB modem link link several wways: unbind / bind, echo 0 > authorized or usb_modeswitch -v 12d1 -p 1506 -R But: I do not know how to make it dial as after reset it does auttomatically. Where is the dialer?

How to reset USB port or USB modem?

I did not put that info here originaly as it is irellevant. This is a pure Linux script question dependant on Linux implementation at Asus routers. Same as a reboot of my router whcih I want to avoid: type reboot :) in any case. For modem hang and dial: ath and atd are the same as they were 50+...

How to reset USB port or USB modem?

As my router (56) gets confused after external WAN IP address change and shuts down outbound communication, I need a way to: a) make my USB modem hung up and/or redial b) shut down my USB port and restart it (modem will redial automatically) from a script. Can someone help me as I am unable...
